Ekiti Assembly Primary: Bolu Fayose Floors Ex-deputy Speaker, Incumbent Member by press9jatv(op): 8:56pm On May 20

Bolu Fayose, son of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, recorded a sweeping victory in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primary election for Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency II, defeating incumbent lawmaker and former Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hakeem Jamiu.

The primary election, which attracted significant political attention across the state, saw Bolu Fayose dominate virtually all the wards in the constituency with a wide margin, ending Jamiu’s bid for a third term in the state assembly.

According to results from the exercise, Bolu Fayose secured 4,165 votes across the wards, while Jamiu polled 372 votes.

In Igbemo Ekiti Ward, Bolu Fayose defeated the incumbent lawmaker with 955 votes against Jamiu’s 171 votes.

The APC primary also recorded a massive margin in Iworoko Ward, where Fayose polled 1,140 votes, while Jamiu managed to secure only 10 votes.

In Are Ward, Bolu Fayose garnered 392 votes as against Jamiu’s 22 votes, while in Awo Ward, Fayose secured 414 votes compared to Jamiu’s 20 votes.

The trend continued in Eyio/Ensore Ward, where Fayose recorded 724 votes, leaving the incumbent lawmaker with 149 votes.

In Afao Ward, the hometown of former Governor Ayodele Fayose, Bolu Fayose secured another dominant victory with 540 votes, while Jamiu failed to record a single vote.

The outcome is one of the biggest upsets in the ongoing APC assembly primaries in Ekiti State, especially considering Jamiu’s status as a ranking member of the House and former Deputy Speaker.

The result is also being interpreted in some political circles as a significant boost for the political influence of the Fayose family within the APC structure in Ekiti, despite Ayodele Fayose’s longstanding association with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This set of politicians are emboldened by the docility pf the masses.
All of them are fixing their children into pre-mature positions.

Although it is not new, the modus operandi has taken a new dynamic, before politicians will get their children into civil service or public aide positions to "grow" small nowadays they transform them from university graduate to legislator overnight.

If Nigeria mumuness grows, a Governor's son will succeed him. In Wike's words "if I don't travel for official assignments with my son who then will i go with"

Most of the current leading figures in opposition have either a son or daughter in APC. From Atiku to David Mark to Obasanjo to Wike to El Rufai and Fayose. All of them have children in APC.

And some ignorant people out there still think these politicians are fighting for our interest. SMH. It is all man for himself.

All Na same, pastors keep their children to lead Thier church branches and several civil servants put Thier children in Thier ministry before retirement. So, politicians are also ok to support their children growth.

When Nigerians wake up to start DECIDING for themselves this political class will either away. But as long as knowledge of how democracy works to build societies remains dark, the likes of Mr. Fayose's sons and his son's after him will rule without question.
