Re: Court Nullifies INEC Membership Timeline by h777(f): 7:39pm On May 21
INEC register = paperwork for election planning
• Constitution = law that controls political office behavior

So even if membership registers are submitted, nothing becomes “closed” or “fully open.” The system remains active, dynamic, and regulated by the Constitution, not just INEC documents.

It can still be Appeal Upon, by INEC,for High Court is First Court of Adjudication.
It depends on INEC Mood ,if it aligned with the Future!
Re: Court Nullifies INEC Membership Timeline by Peacecore: 7:41pm On May 21
Judgement that INEC will appeal and it'll nullified based on section 77(4) is what you gullible fans are celebrating grin
Re: Court Nullifies INEC Membership Timeline by pfadom: 7:41pm On May 21
You may change party, but the deadline for the submission of candidates for various elective offices remains end of May.

Changing party will not translate to snatching cheap candidacy of another party after May 30.

Those who were screened out or disqualified are not aspirants hence did not participate in the Primary.

They are free!

See how obedient are hailing the judgement.

No more Tinubu and wike has the judiciary in their pockets.

The judgement is a risky one as Appeal court might upturn it

Politicians will be afraid to Port or take the risk
Do you think all the abuses have not gotten to the Judiciary? They know that because of the conducts of some judicial officers, the Judiciary, thge Courts that are supposed to be the last hope of the masses have been rubbished and brought to terrible disrepute. So any bone that can be thrown to the masses to take their eyes off the courts is a win-win for both the courts and the masses. The judiciary has never been this bastardized before. The abuses have gotten to heaven. Remember, after God it is supposed to be the Judiciary, the Supreme Court. After God, it is supposed to be Supreme Courts in seeking justice. But in our own case, people rather cry to Satan than cry to the courts. The courts however, does not operate on emotions. But we would rather prefer a case is decided on its substance (justice) than on technicalities (manipulations, loopholes, anything-can-happen, even-the-guilty-can-be-set-free-despite-compelling-evidence, or even man-know-man basis). This is the crux of the matter.

I swear. I just hope this will stand.
Because that man Wike has bought virtually all judges, I wonder how the Court was able to muster the judgement. They will soon come with a court order prohibiting politicians from decamping until final appeal at the supreme court especially as the development will not favor them at all
You truly know their ways of doing things

Re: Court Nullifies INEC Membership Timeline by dmz1: 7:59pm On May 21
do not rejoice yet. it is all aimed at PO to let AA and others be at the ballot to reduce PO total vote. if PO had not moved to NDC this judgement would not have been given.

This is the Court's first order.
*A declaration is hereby made that upon a proper consideration and interpretation of the provisions of Sections 29, 82 and 84(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026, the powers of the defendant to receive notice of party primaries and the personal particulars of candidates and its duty to attend, observe and monitor such primaries, does not extend to fixing or prescribing the timetable within which political parties may conduct their primary elections for the purpose of nominating candidates for the 2027 general elections."

This judgement is a trap .... APC cartels are the one controlling the judiciary....

This judgement will still end up in supreme Court

Any politician that fall for it....

Sorry will be their names
Re: Court Nullifies INEC Membership Timeline by eldoradoxx: 8:16pm On May 21
This judgment that is coming after APC is rounding off its primaries is more like telling the loser to resign and register in another party that is yet to hold primaries to contest since the deadline for primaries and nomination is now in October. It's a game

The judgement is wrong and it'll not stand bcoz it's contrary to the electoral law and time table. I'm very sure that INEC wasn't represented in the Court.

some says, Wike is the authentic camp, some says it's Seyi Makinde camp that's authentic. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Well, the court already recognised Mr Wike's camp. I guess that's why even Mr Makinde had to run to pick APM form, while claiming APM-PDP alliance.

E don be. Let's go there
I'm sure the noise makers won't see the impartiality of the judges now
The moment it doesn't favour them, the judiciary becomes partial

What do I know sef huh
But .... what makes you think the judgment favours a certain people excluding you?
Does it mean that when constitutionality prevails, it's against you and what you represent?
The court while ruling on a motion filed by the Youth Party said that the Electoral Act provision of 120 days before election to submit membership list should prevail against INEC's short deadline.
The court simple told INEC that the Electoral Act is superior to their guidelines, simple.
But you see it as a loss to you and what you represent.
Disgusting!
