Maguire is a liability if you want to play a high defense line. He lacks pace and he can’t read the game quickly and effectively in midfield. If you put him in that system he’s going to be caught out over and over again.

It’s not that big a surprise Tuchel omitted him.

Maguire deserves to go. He has never failed England.

Maybe as a last bench option when the team is defending a lead late in the game. He forces the team to play and defend in a certain way because of his lack of mobility. You can't consistently dominate possession and play with a highline against good teams if he is in your backline.
