2027 Election: Rivers State People Failed Governor Fubara by truthera(op): 2:28am On May 22
I've read several takes on yesterday's news about Fubara's withdrawal from the APC governorship primary, many accusing him of cowardice, calling him derogatory names because he chose the honorable path of peace. All those attacking him should ask themselves this simple question, what do Rivers people want? When Fubara fought Wike's state assembly over his government nominees leading to his 6 months suspension, how many people in Rivers state protested against godfatherism, demanding for his reinstatement against the injustice done to him by Tinubu and Wike? What difference will it make now if he had stood his ground over APC primaries, will the people stand by him? It is glaring that Rivers people are not yet ready to end godfatherism. Wike has gotten what he always wanted, he is now in total control of Rivers state.... A leader is only as strong as the people supporting him, Fubara did the right thing. If in future the people of Rivers state want him to serve as their governor beyond 2027, they know who to fight and what to do to make that happen....In defeat, Fubara has demonstrated that true leadership is not about selfish interests but sacrificing for the greater good of your people. When Rivers state people are tired of Wike, they will show him the door....

Poverty is a weapon against the masses!

Lagos uses same tool to enslave her populace.

Fubara had those little time to win the masses, but he knew he had little time and was just looting anything available!

It’s politics, the play is valid!

Did Fubara ever truly win the election that produced him as Govenor?

Is Fubara trying to displace his godfather so he could become the next Big name ?

If you know the correct answers to this questions, you will not drag the ordinary citizens of rivers State into this matter

Why will FUBARA accept Obidients support? Anyone that wants to be unfortunate in politics should seek for Obidients support directly or indirectly.

Fubara said that nobody should protest for him
He even isolated himself from PDP governors who went to court on his behalf

Precisely. Fubara accepted a poisoned chalice when he chose to be the anointed candidate of Wike only to get in office to then believe he has the capacity to dominate his godfather.

Disjointed analysis..
The Rivers people have absolutely nothing to do with Fubaras political stewpiidity. When he joined the APC, he was told he just walked into a well laid trap, but like a deaf sheep in a lions den, he fodgded ahead.. He went to join the camp of his enemies. He was warned. He sang "On your mandate" with his full chest and he felt he can outplay Wike within the APC which is nothing but madness..

It was Fubara who told the Rivers people to stay calm and never protest after Tinubu declared "a state of emergency" in Rivers State. He never made any attempts to defend his mandate. He was busy trying to appease Tinubu. He was quiet all through. He could have led matches, or started a court process on the constitutionality of such flagrant declaration, but he chose surrender. When he went and brought down the House of Assembly, didn't the people come to support him? So why did he decide to cower and begi begi this time?

Nigerian politicians lack courage because they are all corrupt. The Federal government using the EFCC must have blackmailed him into a total surrender. He never wanted to fight after the impeachment announcement. He was asked to lead, he refused. If it was Wike, he would have fought it. Fubara actually made the position of the governors a bit weaker infront of the presidency with his docility during this period.

Blame Fubara for his predicaments.., leave the good people if Rivers state alone..

Fubara allowed himself to be mislead....

I have had an opportunity to speak to a Govenor from the North... He can't dare take a piss or poo without his godfathers permission... What his godfather told him was to start searching for someone who can be loyal to him too when it's time to leave the office...

Truth be told you can't disobey ur godfather in African politics without consequences
