Traditionally the formal sector operates Monday to Friday while the informal sector operates Monday to Saturday. If you use Mondays as work-free it means that in the south east the work days are 4 days for the formal sector and 5 for informal sector.

= 4 lost days per month × 12 months = 48 lost days per annum. Quantify this and you will see the effect on the GDP of the south east. Self-inflicted pain.

You forgot to add the Mondays. That should take 96 days out of 365. Let’s add it up and make the mathematics of the loss to the state.

Nigerians in foreign countries work their heads off to stay alive, paying bills. No one dares to stay at home, as they work close to twenty four hours daily. Most of them send money home to fund some lazy family friends, who accuse Soludo of trying to make sure that the economy of Anambra state does not collapse.

Now if government fails to deliver the needs of the people, the same governor is held responsible.

I think it’s time to put an end to this issue of making Anambra state the epicenter of the crisis. Anambra and Imo states have suffered terribly horrendous damages from this endless looking crisis.

Unfortunately most of the youths on this forum have not ventured out of their areas and do not have the faintest idea of what happens in Anambra state, or what Anambra state looks like. They only rely on fake hear say, or the wrong information given to them by their forefathers.

The purpose of establishing Agunechemba and the rest, is to compliment the efforts of the police and military. While some blind and ignorant youths choose to call out the two security outfits, they hypocritically overlook the established fact of members of the police and military, who have been compromised and aid the activities of criminals on the streets of Anambra state. We should expect bad eggs among the responsible members of the state security outfits.

Anambra state experienced the most peaceful Christmas and new year celebrations in more than five years in December 2025 and January 2026. The Governor should be commended for that. We may not agree with all his policies, which is normal, but when he takes certain actions like this, we must support him.

Anambra state is basically a trading state and government makes money from taxation. Now there’s no cause to fear anymore, except that the citizens have become very complacent. They must also rise to support government’s efforts to sanitize the state and make it better and safer for everyone.
