To login into Opay app, they will need login access code or biometrics, do they also hack this too? Let's assume they can hijack the OTP and all by taking over the phone, how were they able to pass through facial verification process? Do the hackers hijack Opay database too?

Even if u know someone opay code and you log in on other phone it must prompt face verification

Depends on the type of security layers he added to the OPay account. Like biometric verifications , those two steps security layers is very important.

I think the best thing to do once you detect your phone has been corrupted by an app is to switch off data. I am not a tech guy but my little knowledge of tech makes me know that as long as you data is not on to aid the scam app, nobody will have access to your details.

Switch off data until you are able to delete the app completely. If possible, remove your sim card until the app is removed completely.

Today makes it a week that my money in my opay account was mysteriously transfer to one kuda account named Sani Hannatu. I contacted Opay through tweeted and was told it was under investigation. And up till now, they have not said anything. Please, I dont know who has an idea on how to get my money back. Mehn! Opay do me something!

I downloaded an app through an Ad on one of the social media and after installing it, I noticed my phone touch pad misbehaving and i uninstalled the app but the interface of the app remain on my phone despite removing it from the app list on my phone. Yet, the phone touch pad misbehaving. I already gave up to buy another phone and suddenly, my phone screen went blind and later showing updating app. After 3 hours, it was still showing same. I restarted the phone and restored factory setting. I checked my Opay account and noticed my money was gone. . How do i get my money back?

And the phone let me guess ?Android right ?

Next time even in android there are measures that warns you from such hacking websites, IOS most times stops the websites from opening .

Before someone can withdraw money from your opay, he or she must have ur login password and transaction pin. Only in case of ussd transaction is ur login password on required and transaction must be from acct phone number. Personally if I login my opay in another phone, opay always demands face verification b4 accessing the account. This is the first time I am hearing this kind of story about opay

The hacker took over his phone, so OTP, email verification and all MFA notifications will be received by the SCAMMER. So, the victim has NO CASE. He deliberately handed his device to the scammer. He has now learnt the hard way. Nothing is really free online.

Exactly what happened to my pi wallet address. Which I foolishly entered online showing that pi is giving free 350 pi. Omo I entered their parody website that look exactly like the real pi network. I entered my passphrase. For months this bastards were monitoring my wallet to check when my lock up pi will expire for me to gain access to my pi.
I waited patiently for that day. I wanted to visit my wallet to welcome my pi. Left and slept off only to wake up 3 hrs later and all my pi was gone.
Could you believe this idiots were still on my wallet still doing transactions even when I was logged in 😂😂. Over 200 pi gone cus I want free stuff. Just as you said, nothing is free online.

Opay is overrated they don't have customer service everything is generic kind of. You buy power, it fails to load and no way to resolve it despite the fact that they dont have physical office yet it is AI bot you will be chatting with everytime. You borrow money at a rate they secretly inflate the rate you originally took the loan. Thats why i only keep pocket change in their "Fintech" to buy recharge cards and suya

I always have issues with Palmpay, there is unwanted an app "palmstore" that displays at the top of my phone screen. If I click the app by mistake it takes me straight to the sign in section of my PALMPAY app, therefore I hardly save money in my PALMPAY account.

How? He downloaded an app that gave the guys remote access, and touch screen or keypad entries. How is it Opay’s fault?

With remote access… those verifications are not available. They used the dodge app he downloaded to screen record his activities. With those data they remotely accessed the opay app on his phone with the same login details, and accessed his funds… no brainer!

There is no gimmicks here someone very close to you must have had your passwords there by easily accessing your fundsl

The app was likely reverse engineered to be a remote utility that's why his phone was misbehaving, the hacker had seized control via the app. And because he had logged in via the scam app the hacker had the OP's pass passcode or whatever he used to secure the app.

OP sorry for your loss.

I don't want to believe this is the complete story. you've not told us what type of app that you downloaded. I just want to believe that it's a loan credit app that you downloaded and you must have put some of your opay information in the app for them removing the money directly when the time is due for payment, that is why they are stealing your money you might not even have borrowed from the app the fac, you've put your details into the app

The OP failed to tell us how much money was lost.
Next thing is the OP screen shots the logo of the Opay bank under his thread.

This in my humble opinion is either a joke thread instigated for the OP's personal morbid amusement or an calculated hack job to smear a rival.

Opay app will believe his the one input the passkey cus it on same phone imei and the have monitor his password both login and transfer passkey . The said app can monitor and gain access to all his not only opay

He probably didn't set all these up, especially the facial recognition before transfer.

See, let me break it dowm for you, when opay investigates through their backend, they will see the money was transfered using your phone, it will be in the log. Based on that case closed. They will advice you to report to the police for investigation. If they want to go further the most they will do is trace the accounts that money went through and block the bvn, but of course, what happens is that the scammer goes to recruit an illiterate aboki to register bvn and open an count which is then used for fraud. By the time they trace the aboki, he is no where to be found or ignorant of any transactions
