Oyo South senator, Sarafadeen Alli, has emerged winner of the Oyo State All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary election.

The lawmaker polled 578,143 votes, beating former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who got 19,193 votes and one other.

Adelabu resigned from his ministerial position to contest the Oyo State governorship seat.

DAILY POST reports that Adelabu had alleged that the primary election was manipulated.

Adelabu made the allegation on Thursday while interacting with newsmen after voting at his ward.

Speaking to journalists, the ex-minister said, “I must sound this note of warning that it is not this way in a lot of other wards.

“Reports reaching me state that there are a lot of gross misconducts in the other wards, ranging from various forms of infractions.

“In some wards, they conducted the election hours before the appointed time and wrote the figures they liked.”

He actually pushed his luck too far. You were picked from the opposition party as a minister, you performed woefully, resigned to contest for governor when you didn't get a clear directive from the top that you are the chosen one. As if that was not enough, you arrived Ibadan ad started disparaging the Olubadan who is highly respected in Ibadan and by the president.

He is nepo kid. Except he is clearly back up from the top, there is no way he can navigate through Ibadan murky water politics to become a governor. Those pushing him or giving him assurances of winning are only doing to collect money and favour from him. He is too small for ibadan politics. Besides, he lack leadership charisma.

He should be drinking water ontop he had been able to garner as a minister because I don't see him being reappointed.

Adelabu knows he can't win the APC primaries.

He actually used the resignation as minister of darkness to contest at the primaries, as an excuse to run from his incompetent job. The matter heavy am for head.

Tinubu has nothing to offer Nigeria. If he channelled the efforts on Lagos - Calabar coastal road to power, we would have been happier by now. However, he must satisfy Chagoury and himself at the expense of national transformation and economic growth. Nigeria deserve the kind of leaders they produce because we are too divided and full of sentiments. embarassed
