Without mincing words, I think Tuchel has some personal beef with some of the players dropped.
I am a Man United fan, sentiment aside. None of the afforemention defenders Tuchel took are better than Maguire both on current form and international exposure, including experience and leadership. He's one of the leaders in that 3 lions team.

According to sources,Tuchel dropped some of the players based on form and fitness issues. Pls I want to know which form and fitness John Stones and Reece James have over Maguire and Arnold.
To think Dan Burn is also there makes it laughable.
For the first time since Luke Shaw signed for man United, this season he's the highest appearance maker for United with 36 EPL matches.
He may not be that flamboyant, but he has never been found wanting when representing England. He has world cup and Euro experience and you drop him for a certain Djed Spence who's struggling at Tottenham. And doesn't have any tournament experience like Dan Burn too.

The person I really thought would have denied Shaw his place was Lewis Hall, even at that Shaw may bench for him and guard him thru.
You dropped workaholic Morgan Gibbs-White for Henderson saying the latter brings experience to the table. So you needed experience guys and you dropped Maguire.

As for the case of Cole Palmer and Foden, they may not be in much form this season, but hey! This is a tournament football of 7 or 8 matches. They can pick form during the tournament and when such happens, we all know how talented and deadly they can be to the opposition.
I am not worried about Ivan Toney's inclusion, scoring 32 goals in Saudi league competing with the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema, Mane, Coman, Retegui, Joao Felix, and co, all European established stars is no mean fit.
Another suspected wrong selection, Madueke over Bowen.
In terms of goals and assist this season, Madueke didn't see his back.

Now in Stones position, is he more fitter and in form than Maguire. Don't you also know this should be Maguire's last tournament for England.

Maguire has one fatal flaw: a worrying lack of speed.
You can argue that he should have made the squad, but in the end it's the coach's decision.

Phil foden should be there....I feel really sorry for him. As for Cole Palmer, he's just been saved some blushes....those spate of injuries back to back didn't help the poor boy. The good thing is that if he stays injury free, he has a chance to play in a couple of WCs in the future
