BREAKING NEWS: Oyo APC Leaders and Members Congratulate Senator Buhari Abdulfatai on Gubernatorial Primary Victory, Urge President Tinubu to Caution Sharafadeen Ali’s Supporters Against Spreading Fake Figures _Ibadan, Oyo State – Friday, 22 May 2026 Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Oyo State have congratulated Senator Buhari AbdulFatai Ph.D on his victory in Thursday’s gubernatorial primary election, describing the outcome as a clear reflection of the will of party members. According to results collated and verified by party agents and independent observers, Senator Buhari, an Ogbomoso-born politician and three-time election winner, polled 78,143 votes to defeat Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun ALLI , who scored 37,265 votes, and Chief Adelabu Adebayo Adekola , who garnered 19,193 votes. The primary, held across the state’s 33 local government areas, was largely peaceful despite allegations of intimidation and attempts to manipulate the process by some elements in the Senator Ali camp. Leaders Condemn Spread of Fake Results Following the announcement, APC leaders expressed concern over claims circulating on social media that Senator Ali had scored 578,143 votes. Party officials dismissed the figure as mathematically impossible and inconsistent with the party’s official register. “Oyo State APC has 153,591 registered members according to the party’s verified data. Do the math: 578,143 minus 153,591 leaves 424,552 extra votes. That’s a 376% turnout rate. For context, that figure even exceeds the total number of registered APC members in Lagos State.” Mr moraine Bamidele a party leader from Ibadan stated. Party leaders and observers have called on President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda , and National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru to intervene and caution Senator Ali and his supporters against spreading unverified claims that undermine party discipline and public confidence in the process. “Any Attempt to Alter the Outcome Will Not Stand” Stakeholders commended Senator Buhari’s conduct throughout the contest and said his victory was achieved despite what they described as “manipulative tactics and threats” from opposing camps. “You tried every means to defeat Senator Buhari, but it failed,He defeated Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Ali at the primary, and any attempt to alter the outcome will not stand.”A party leader from Saki said. The leaders urged all members to embrace unity and focus on building a stronger APC ahead of the 2027 general election, stressing that internal democracy must be respected for the party to remain credible in Oyo State. The APC National Secretariat is expected to issue an official statement and present the certificate of return to the declared winner in the coming days.

Oyo North: 58,823 2. Oyo Central: 52,437 3. Oyo South: 42,381 Totalling: 153,641. So, where did you people get the 570,690 votes cast for Oba Sarafadeen Alli ? Illiterate electoral arm robas.. The Spirit is willing but the body is weak ... You would have thought APC would have shown an excellent outing within their primaries all through but some people just like to pour sand sand in Mr President democratic legacies .. if family members can't agree to do things right and respect the head of the family, biko what do they expect from outsiders... Are you saying there was not registered members records for this allegations of inflation of figures. But wait o , abi you people are also planning direct primaries for Mr President. |

Politicstoday:Does this fellow expect us, the “ordinary citizens”, to answer that question? What’s our own? Anyway, they did what some specialist politicians know how to do very well. Fela called it “government magic”. You can also call it “the more you look, the less you see”. It shows that there’s no limit to ojoro. Their ojoro does not know party, family or friends. If they can do that to themselves, expect them to repeat the same to others and their parties! |
