Nigeria’s Youngest Lawmaker, Rukayat Shittu Wins APC Re-Election Primary in Kwara

Nigeria’s youngest lawmaker, Hon. Rukayat Shittu, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Owode/Onire State Constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly after winning the party’s re-election primary.

Shittu secured victory after defeating her only cleared challenger, Sulyman Ayegun, in a keenly contested primary election described by party officials and observers as a significant political development in the constituency.

Very shabby reportage everywhere. With the caption, every reader expects to see her age at least once, and how she came to limelight. How did she win her first term in the first place, what number of votes she got in the "keenly contested" primaries? No mention of anything data in the whole whitewash writeup. I'm not a journalist, but the way I used to read some news on foreign news websites like BBC, New York Times, etc, you will certainly see the backstory to guide your reading and comprehension of the news. Nairaland moderators should always endeavour to read some of the these news before pushing it to the frontpage.

Nigerian journalism at work. the other day they claimed one Nigerian was the youngest professor in the world....their intellect did not think it important to report the most vital information...his age! Thats why when they go abroad they end up as care workers.
