This university and wahala . If it's not accredited course, it's not agreeing to send transcripts. After paying millions. To send transcripts is now rocket science that VC, Registrar are now involved. Very soon Mmaduka will put mouth too. And yet they won't allow us rest with everyday advertisement here. |

Transcript that should be on student portal that they can download anytime. If an education institution is still living in 1920, how will the country move forward |

It's time again. Defamation and Defamation> Why should people pay School fees and yet be denied Access to their transcript. I would have thought it was a global practice until I tried in a school abroad and I just have to open my LMS and apply for transcript and it is generated in a downloadable format and even sent to my mail. 2M for transcript is greed |

The university is right on this one. Transcripts can only be sent to another university |

Bordey:This is not correct. Institutions have to ensure transcripts remain authentic and resistant to manipulation or fraud. The process require verification layers that a student cannot just download. |

Anything the university says is false. All of this is damage control. Private universities are terrible places when they're starting. |

Truth is, unofficial transcripts must be provided to students if they apply for it. Something is fishy! |

shortgun:Obvious you haven't seen beyond your nose.. Some schools within and outside Nigeria make it available for students online. Such always have "student's copy" watermarked on it. |

LordIsaac:Well, when I was about to do a masters, in applying for a transcript, the university refused to give me a copy, they asked for the school address and told me it would be posted there, but that was some time ago, things might have changed. |

ntyce:When responding to someone, you do not have to be rude like this. You don't know who is behind the monicker...for all we know, they may be old enough to be ya dad. Some schools within and outside Nigeria make it available for students online.Maybe, but back in my time, this is like 16 years or more ago, when I was applying for a masters at another uni, my university sent the transcript to them, and they did not give me a copy. (Then again, the uni is one of nigeria's older universites, so they probably did things the old way). Times might have changed. |

nairalanda1:When did saying "Not seeing beyond the nose" became an insult? You did MSc, 16 years ago? Clap for yourself I was already done and dusted with my MSc 3 years before then. Like you said, I might be old enough to be.... Years back, schools were reluctant to give directly to students but students who knew their rights got it, and it's referred to as Student's Copy. Most schools now have online platforms where you can request for the Student's Copy or the official copy |
| Re: Re: Non-issuance Of Student Official Transcript:The Maduka University’s Position by Willie2015: 5:44pm On May 22 |
nairalanda1:Ur position is correct. And you can still request for a student copy at the same time.. But student copy will be on it.. |

I will not comment about the issue itself, as I generally do not take sides on issues for which I have limited information. However, just in case representatives of the university read this, I want to highlight that the world of education has changed. Students are always entitled to their transcripts, and should easily be able to download them without the need for any serious procedures. For the two Nigerian university certificates I have, getting my transcripts was a hassle. Even till today, people request to use my office as their destination to retrieve their own transcripts as their universities would not send it to them directly. This practice is simply meaningless! For my degrees from Europe, I have always had access to my transcripts without any protocols or requests. For my MSc in France, I was sent the transcripts by email as soon as each session was over- no requests. I could also download them from the school portal. For my PhD in Finland, they've always been on the portal. The document is updated as I completed course and earn each ECTS and can be downloaded for free anytime I wish. And no, its not marked "student". I easily send the transcripts to people and organizations and can apply for opportunities at will. To be clear, this is not to castigate Maduka university which i have never studied in. It is rather to encourage Nigerian universities that the world of education has moved far beyond this unproductive system. A transcript is not national security data and any organizations that prefer to confirm with the school can make such requests. Bodies like WES will request that it is sent directly from the school. But this does not invalidate the right of the student to have their transcripts for use at any time, and in any way they so wish. |

Oga VC just give her the damn transcript she labored hard to obtain. After 3.5m fees you are still charging processing fees. Why so greedy? |

Bordey:That's a different ask . An official transcript should go with official stamp so it can be trusted . The ones online dont have that |
| Re: Re: Non-issuance Of Student Official Transcript:The Maduka University’s Position by Ebubu6: 6:12pm On May 22 |
There is such a thing as student copy of transcript. The university should immediately issue the student her "student copy of transcript", and it should be adequately signed, stamped, and dated by the relevant authority in the school management. Every student deserves a copy of his or her student copy of transcript directly issued to the student via a letter, or through email, without it being sent to another school, so far as the student has duly applied for the student copy and paid all necessary fee attached to it. This is completely different from official copy of transcript which can only be issued to another school on behalf of the student. Without it going through the student. There are two forms of transcript, official and unofficial otherwise known as student copy. The latter is issued directly to the student after payment of subscribed fee and must be done urgently. The school should stop toying around or lose the confidence of parents. They will likely face court limitations if they keep on holding back to student copy of transcript. They should stop forthwith from acting like they don't understand or know what student copy of transcript means. Give that student her student copy immediately or face court and fine in tens of millions of naira. |

The parents are complaining about increase in school fees when the student is midway. The earlier people realize the fact that private Unis are not for all comers, the better. Check your pocket well before you chuk head and prepare for what you see as you move on. We're they expecting the fees to remain the same throughout? |
