The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has denied a request by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to visit Nasir El-Rufai in its custody.

In a letter dated May 21, 2026, and addressed to the National Secretary of the ADC in Abuja, the Commission said the request could not be granted.

According to the letter, El-Rufai is currently standing trial before two courts, the State High Court of Justice in Kaduna and the Federal High Court, both sitting in Kaduna State.

The ICPC explained that although the defendant is in its custody by order of the courts, the matter is fully before the courts.

It added that only specific persons have been granted access to him.

“The court has granted access to the defendant to his family, doctors and counsels. These are the only category of persons granted access to see the defendant in the Commission’s custody,” the letter stated.

The Commission concluded that based on this, the ADC’s application to visit him could not be approved.

First thing first..... Elrufai has to answer to his crimes.... Then this has nothing to do with the president or this government.

Every agencies have their role to play without the president's decision. The DSS, EFCC and other agencies behind his tail investigating Elrufai has northerners working in those agencies but people will rather point fingers to the government of the day.

So if a person commits a crime, he should be forgiven because he dines with the devil?

You guys claimed that all politicians crossing to APC are forgiven of their criminal cases..... Then wail when a criminal case against Elrufai is investigated.

When they steal (allegedly), they do that alone, but when the law is catching up with them, they turn it to national rescue mission.

If he is guilty of just one of the counts against him, may he rot in jail.

People are dying as a result of their actions or inactions while in office and acting like god.

What does Tinubu know that he has not told you about El Rufai? The man who saved him from his cluelessness in Chatham House, where the master strategist could not answer questions on insecurity.

Elrufai who made Tinubu president is under incarceration without bail but Yahaya Bello and Okowa are running for senate under APC. Mobutu did more than this. Where is he today?
