Now, if you say you ask for asylum in South Africa, you must prove you did not travel through another country that is safe. No one from Goma can teleport to Joburg. How many countries did you travel through to get to South Africa? No flights on SAA go from South Africa to Eastern DRC.

A lot of these refugees use the threats back home as an excuse. But really, they just want to live better in South Africa since it's better than anywhere else in Africa.

So if you fly from Uganda to South Africa directly and ask for asylum because you're gay it will be heard.

If you took a Bus from DRC to South Africa, travelled through a number of countries with no war to say you were escaping war. Then you will be denied.


If you travel to South Africa and apply for a work Visa since you have a job then they will accept you. But that works for only certain jobs like doctors, not Cleaners, labourers, miners, and other jobs.

Seeing as HIV rates are on a decrease in South Africa while medication means those with it can live a normal live means HIV is not spreading.

HIV is spreading in Nigeria though.
