Inibehe Effiong Questions Nigerians over Tinubu style of leadership, spark serious reactions online as the human rights lawyer says those still supporting President Bola Tinubu despite rising hardship, insecurity, and economic challenges are the real problem.

Barrister Inibehe Effiong is trending online again after calling out Nigerians who still defend President Bola Tinubu even with the current hardship in the country.

The lawyer made the comments in a post that quickly started making rounds on X and Facebook.

According to him, the painful part of Nigeria’s politics is that everybody suffers whenever leadership fails, including the same people defending the government every day online.

“When kidnappers invade communities and schools, they do not separate Tinubu/APC supporters from those who are against the regime,” he wrote.

He also questioned why many Nigerians still support the government even with the complaints about insecurity, hunger, and the economy.

People don’t really see Inibehe as somebody that waits for permission before speaking. Back during the EndSARS protests, his name was always flying around online because he kept speaking on what protesters were facing and criticizing how the government handled the situation. That period was really when many Nigerians started noticing him more.

Since then, he has stayed active online, especially anytime politics starts causing arguments on social media.

A big reason people are reacting to what he said is because many Nigerians are already angry and exhausted about the situation of things in the country. Prices of food have gone up badly, transport money is stressing people daily, and insecurity is still something many families complain about almost every day.
That is why some people agreed with him immediately.

Some users online said Nigerians are simply tired and angry about the situation of things. Others said the hardship in the country has become too obvious for anybody to ignore.

Still, not everybody agreed with him.

Some people felt he was talking like the government has completely failed already, while others said Tinubu has not even spent enough time in office yet for people to write him off like that. Inibehe Effiong Questions

There were also Nigerians who felt the whole political space online has become too toxic lately because both supporters and critics insult each other almost every day.

But the post kept spreading anyway because the issues he mentioned are things many Nigerians already complain about daily — hardship, insecurity, and the general frustration people feel about the country right now.

For now, reactions remain divided. While some Nigerians praised Inibehe for saying what many people are thinking, others believe constant criticism without solutions will not change anything.

There's this allegory called Plato's Cave.... Read about it.

The whole idea is that, when people get too used to their own oppression, they will fight ANYONE who tries to convince them that they can actually have a better and free life.

You can also think about, Stockholm Syndrome - they have fallen in love with their oppressors.

The Ogakpatakpata of them all - Greedy Bootlickers. These set will do and say anything provided they can get the crumbs of the crumbs that fell from the left over of the crumbs from the politician's table.

Read the last paragraph well.

Buhari too was backed and Obi too or any other southern president would have been backed. It is just part of Nigèrian politics and little bit of emotional intelligence. Hating Tinubu doesnt make other options suddenly favourable to individual voters.

It's almost diabolical, unbelievable. But humans will be humans, weak minded, afraid of the unknown and highly prejudiced.

Those still backing Tinubu’s mandate of hardship and death must have stopped using their brains.

There are 10 times more senseless people than sensible people in Nigeria. The senseless ones are irredeemable. They will still sell their votes.

The sensible ones must build themselves to weather the suffering, cos they pretty dont have no much of a say.
Re: Inibehe Effiong Questions Nigerians Still Backing Tinubu Despite Hardship by asfrank(m): 6:37pm On May 23
And those you are backing what have they done in the past that you feel they are in a better position to lead the country?
Everyone has a choice and guaranteed the freedom to exercise same. If you don't recognize this then you are just the problem.
What constitute a problem to you may not be a problem to someone else, regardless of his or her social status.
Respect people's opinion while canvassing for votes for your own candidate

“Democracy is not sustained by noise, speculation, or borrowed platforms. It is sustained by citizens who show up, party members who believe, institutions that endure, the grassroots, and a political family rooted in the people.”

Many people supporting Tinubu today didn't support him in 2023. So, why are they supporting him now? The reasons are Igbos (obidients).
