A defender ( Federico Dimarco ) in Italian serie A made 18 assists and 7 goals this just concluded season. 21 assists from a midfielder is not a big deal, if a defender could do 18 assists.

That is because his primary job is to score goals. He is having highest assist while also have highest goals (six golden boots).

If he plays primarily as a midfielder like KDB and Bruno F. He would be banging 50 assists.
