Sunday Igboho Creates 'Iru Ekun Security Network', Awaits FG's Approval by MATV(op): 12:02pm On May 25

Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, says he is awaiting the approval of the federal government for the take off of his proposed security outfit named “Iru Ekun Security Network”.

Iru Ekun literally means “the tail of a leopard” in Yoruba language.

Igboho said the security outfit will dislodge criminals residing in the forests of the south-west geopolitical zone.

In a statement sent to journalists on Monday, the youth leader said the necessary documents had been submitted to the federal government for the approval on establishment of the security outfit.

Igboho said he is ready to comply with the executive order of Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo, seeking to regulate the activities of private security groups in the state.

“We have submitted all the required documents for our registered security firm, Iru Ekun Security Network and only waiting for the Federal Government approval which will be granted soon,” he said.

“We are absolutely ready to collaborate with the Police, Department of State Service (DSS), Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other relevant stakeholders in the security sector to flush out terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and other hoodlums, who are threatening the peace and safety of our people, most especially in rural communities.

“It is obvious that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is resolutely committed to tackle criminalities not only in the South West but also in all other regions plagued by insecurity.

“Besides, I want to state that we are also ready to comply with the new Executive Order issued by Governor Seyi Makinde to regulate the activities of private security concerns. We are ready to support and cooperate with measures aimed at strengthening the security and peace in Oyo and other states in Yorubaland.

“Without peace and security, healthy socioeconomic developments cannot thrive, most especially in the rural communities which remain the hub of agricultural production critical to the nation’s food security and means of livelihood for farmers.”

Last Wednesday, Makinde signed an executive order to regulate the activities of associations and groups offering security-related services in Oyo.

Makinde said the order becomes necessary to facilitate coordination of security efforts since insecurity has become “more sophisticated”.

He noted that the order was designed to ensure that “all groups involved in security-related activities operate within a clear legal and operational framework that supports peace, order, and the rule of law”.

The same people who criticized ESN and called Kanu unprintable names for ESN will start stuttering in support of this Iru Ekun.
If they tell you that those guys from the East are like several million years more enlightened and advanced than you, you'd start stuttering again and shaking convulsively.

This initiative is in Oyo state. Lagos did not accept the South West proposal to support Amotekun as a vigilante. I am wondering why this is in Oyo State. Is it politics again?

Comparing OPC with igboho initiative is a different things entirely, can you tell me why Opc was established in south west, is it to combate banditry or for political purpose.
