Hello Nairalanders,

My Lexus ES 300 (pic attached for illustration) has been having an issue that has seemed to defy all diagnostics and repair attempts.

The vehicle starts up fine and runs well but after a few KM's of running, it will just seize accelerating and wouldn't exceed 1000 RPM even though I floor the throttle. Then after like 5minutes while still moving slowly, it will suddenly pick up and run smoothly again and the cycle repeats again.

I have changed the brain box, changed coils and plugs, serviced the nozzles, changed fuel pump 3 time (both Belgium and new), overhauled the engine, checked the gear box and changed gear oil even though I was told it's not a gear issue but the problem still persists.

I have run computer diagnostics 3 times as well but no significant error comes up.

Recently I was told it might just be the throttle sensor but I am tired of spending and not getting results.

Pls house, is there anyone that has experienced this and can advise on what I need to change?? Your inputs will help!

Change your throttle sensor. Then let the electrician run a computer diagnosis to programe the new sensor to match your engine type.

What was the color of your gear oil before you changed it and what is the color now.

what type of gear oil did you put in
