The Ogun state police command has reportedly arrested a man for allegedly staging and circulating a fake bandit attack video on social media to gain followers.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency publication, the incident was reported on May 23 after one Ayinla Sodiq from Obasanjo Ota appeared at a police station alongside the suspect identified as Qowiy Oloyede from Oriya Sokoto road, Atan Ota.

The complainant had accused the suspect of creating and sharing a misleading TikTok video falsely claiming that bandits had invaded the Atan Ota community.

The publication reported that the divisional police officer (DPO) immediately questioned the suspect, who allegedly confessed to fabricating the video to gain followers on social media.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the suspect was seen kneeling while being interrogated by a person dressed in a police uniform.

The suspect admitted in the video that he created the fake bandit attack content to gain followers and trend online.

He also said the herder featured in the clip was a cattle rearer who usually grazed cows behind his shop and had initially refused to participate before eventually agreeing.

The suspect further claimed he could neither read nor write, adding that his apprentice wrote the caption accompanying the video posted online.

He added that he had only produced and posted two similar videos, one on Monday and another on Wednesday.

The police authorities were said to have recovered photographs and video evidence linked to the fake publication during preliminary investigation.

The publication added that the suspect is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Abeokuta, for further investigation.

According to the report, the police also warned residents against spreading false information capable of causing panic and public disorder, urging the public to verify information before sharing content on social media.

The kind of people they can arrest.
Somehow, they cannot arrest the bandits themselves who are even on TikTok.

Now guys, just study the history of Sudan just before its destruction.
Then you will see a clear picture of present Nigeria.

Some people never know where to draw the line/limit...

He must be procecuted and made to face the full consequence of the law for his actions of spreading fake news with the intention of causing panic and havoc.

He isn't much different from the actual terrorists. Like I always say it's not until you carry gun and enter bush that makes you a terrorist.

These are also acts of terrorism!

We can now see that Nigeria government and police can arrest those bandits kn tiktok but someone is benefitting from banditry at the expense of Nigerian lives. They keep exposing themselves with this selective justice.

So if banditry enter your State and nothing is done, your Governor knows about it.

According to Yohanna

‘’Boko haram are being rehabilitated, Now, what they do after rehabilitation, they fill form, ask them questions on how many people have they k!lled. If they k!ll 50, they have there are own class. If you have never k!lled, you stay there one month,. If you k!ll small number, two months. If you kill many, six months. Which type of ammunition have you used?

These are the people that are given payoff of N3 million and monthly salary of N50, 000. I am revealing this. After been rehabilitated and cannot live without using g$ns, the government will provide gun for you as a civilian JTF. You all know they are here in Abuja. Most of them are repented Boko Haram. Some of them that cannot stay in the society, they are being exported to Algeria to go and and do illegal gold mining in Algeria. and be paid. If they sustain gunshots, they are goingto be transported back to Maiduguri and treated in University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital through the government of Borno state.

The civilian JTFs. Go to Zamfara, they are there. The government of Zamfara is paying the government of Borno N70, 000. The government of Borno is paying them N50, 000, meaning it is a job. It is a business. It is not a crime to start a business if the business is being recognised by our government.

The businss I am craving for is to start my terror!sm. I am not going to terror!ze anybody. I am going to fight back. It has been so painful that the k!llers of my dad is being paid with taxpayers money. The abductors of our wives, our childre, our sister are being paid with taxpayers money. They drive luxury cars with escorts. There is one man that slaughtered 96 people a day, now he is driving hilux. His name is Adamu. I am saying this., I do not care. I am ready to d!e because what is the life''

Is the above also staged?

Bro raising such false alarms is very dangerous. If it’s allowed to continue people will not know when the information is right for them to be able to respond appropriately.
