When you hear “SUPER HIGHWAY”, you’ll be picturing a 6 to 10 lane highway like Abuja airport road but imagine my disappointment when I saw the rubbish dual carriage in lagos that was made so that Eko Atlantic residents would have unperturbed access. Now, they’re bringing this same nonsense from Calabar to GOD only knows where.

Obidients call this waste of resources and that roads aren't important for national development......with this road u can do calabar to Abuja in 4 hrs, imagine what that will do to the economies of benue, ebonyi and cross rivers......you can clear your goods at calabar port and ship northwards with ease......fewer congestion on our highways will make them last longer.
How many pictures of ongoing road projects are you using to pay the subsidy forced on Nigerians since 2015, because of the massive corruption in APC’s oil sector?

Abi, you ever bought petrol for N70 in the last 11 years of APC extreme poverty and insecurity shege huh

anonimi:
Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC

January 19, 2015

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

So what is the guarantee that this particular road will not turn into the old pothole fill roads we already have that are dangerously impassible?

Why would a master strategist borrow money to build new roads instead of fixing existing ones?

What kind of balablu logic is that huh

David Umahi is doing a great job.

He is definitely better than Amaechi who achieved nothing for his people as a minister.

His greatest achievements was the non-functional Kano to Maradi rail to help Niger Republic infrastructure development.

And he is still scheming to be president.

God forbid!

Fulani militants, follow bush tracks, not main roads

Dogalmighty17:
Very impressive project I must say. The downside is that it gives Fulani militants easy access to areas they never had access to before. Fulani kidnappings and killings exploded in zone C senatorial district of Benue state soon after the Oweto bridge was completed. That bridge and the road that came with it, gave the Fulani who are based in Nasarawa state, easy access to Idoma land.

Oh God!

This people are something else. They just gave an existing federal road (Abakaliki - Afikpo Road) a different name. This is a place I served in my NYSC days and I know the places well.

If they called this "dualization of a section of the road", it would be better. Umahi dualized half of the road as a governor.

The administration has really tried in infrastructure, like the Lagos section of the coastal highway has drastically reduced traffic on the lekki-epe corridors. Now I don't have to wake 5@m in order to get to ikoyi from ajah at 8@m. If you live along this axis you'll truly understand what I'm talking
Bro I feel you 100.......i am into logistics and I know what a blessing the coastal road has been and has positively affected my business in that axis with quicker turn around time and lesser running cost......bros remember that before yoi would take 2 hrs to drive from vi to ajah but now the lekki epe exp way is now far less congested and you can do that same journey in 15 to 20mins even during peak hours.

Let me burst your brain further,do you know if the coastal Rd is completed you can do lagos to PH round-trip same day each 4 hrs, just imagine how great that will be to the economy of the south, new developments in industries and real estates, cheaper cost of transportation, new economic hubs......and you expect me to vote an obi that says roads arent important to development.

Hmmmm ....super highway ...two lanes only. Well done. Ordinary highways have shoulders....in case of emergencies as in break downs. Imagine the truck in the video breaks down...then what? ...or there's a head on collision ? You have an imagination. Super highway indeed .
Is it every road in america thats dual carriage, the larger clearance on both sides are meant for what? I was expecting you to mention drainage too........it would be really nice if you guys can be logical with your criticism, I don't support obi and won't vote him but I still comend his construction of the ojukwu express way from head bridge to zik round about he did a magnificent job there and thats foresight, imagine what onitsha would be like without the road today.

What a childish comments! Right now are you not riding on other roads despite the cost of petrol and others that you mentioned? Is the cost of petrol to ride on that road going to be different?
When the construction finishes don't ride on it nobody beg you. Very myopic set of people.
