Infested apps don't need you to grant them any permission, all they need you to do is to "install" them.

There's a reason your phone warns you if you want to install an app from unknown sources.

The account the money was transferred to has either NIN or BVN, can't it be tracked?

Android by default will block unknown apps and give multiple warnings so he did not install the app he got from social media by accident

Sounds to me like he deliberately installed a pirated app, gave it full permissions and is now amazed that it stole all his passwords etc.

Firstly, I don't even believe this narrative. It sounds made up. Secondly, let's even assume it's true, how is this Opay's fault?? There's no bank app anywhere in the world that is 100% hack proof. That is why bank apps receive constant app updates. Over 1 million Nigerians use opay daily for transactions and aren't complaining that their monies are being mysteriously withdrawn. As far as I know, Opay app is topnotch and secure.

I am very sure you don't know what you are talking about. See, the whole situation made me to be under the weather. That was the reason i was not online to follow up the post. Next thing is the OP screen shots the logo of the Opay bank under his thread.

This in my humble opinion is either a joke thread instigated for the OP's personal morbid amusement or an calculated hack job to smear a rival.
Either way this kinds of threads need to be thoroughly investigated before gracing the front page,but then,what do I know?

Funny enof, I had some money on my palmpay acount but it was not touched. I had some as well in my piggyvest and it was saved. But Opay was not lucky

With the security level on Opay, nobody can access it unless it was hacked. I dont know why somebody just want to say anything but nothing.

Olukayode adeoye transfered first N10,000,I don't know him but it was showing in my app that I transferred money to him,I was confused,so I activated the opay erroneous transfer options on the app,long story cut short, nothing happened,just story's from opay,that they have informed palmpay,the bank of the thief and no response,about 4weeks later,another N1000 was transferred again to same Israel olukayode adeoye palmpay..so I have totally stopped using opay,they are very easy to hack, remember a member of the national assembly made such remarks few months ago.

I haven't rooted any device since 2015. Very hard to root most modern phones. I remember then that a lot of apps will simply refuse to run on a rooted device and you have to introduce another app that spoofs non root status

My point is that it is more likely than not that op bypassed or disabled multiple system protections without understanding the implications.

If you are going to run a hacked or dodgy device, you should not have your critical info or main account on it.

If this story is true the fact that the op has failed to name it or where he got it from is a red flag.
For all you know the op deliberately downloaded a dubious app with the aim of doing something illegal and is now forming Pikachu face

Like those who download forbidden third party whatsapp clients.

How much protection do you have to disable to such an app to run?

Before someone can withdraw money from your opay, he or she must have ur login password and transaction pin. Only in case of ussd transaction is ur login password on required and transaction must be from acct phone number. Personally if I login my opay in another phone, opay always demands face verification b4 accessing the account. This is the first time I am hearing this kind of story about opay
