Mid day sleep is mandatory in china for primary and nursery students
Chinese do things in unity.
You have come with your Nigerian jaga-jaga anyhowness
You can't see anything wrong in one child being sleepy when all the others are fully awake
It is neither mid day, nor time to sleep.
The boy should be awake like the others.
Something is wrong in his home

The bar has dropped drastically in parenting and children management

Most of us grew up to be this disciplined
Because our parent were strict and schools understood children management then

A child should understand there’s time for everything
Time to learn , sleep , eat , etc

A child’s brain is not really developed what you feed it
Is what stick

I like Chinese parent
And our parents

Imagine today's rain with this Learner's attitude. What do I do?
Considering the age. Allow that sleep

Likely remote reasons should be probed first if it is habitual....the parents/ what the boy is facing at home, etc..

True but nigeia chairs not good for sleeping you will just put head down while your waistline is bed which is not good. I think all kids not to be giving. Beds in class to sleep. I knw some some schools have it

There are different ways to approach this.

I might give the whole class little physical exercise, if the sleep persists after that, I would let him sleep, but I think the exercise would have done the magic.

I missed being a classroom teacher though, I love impacting knowledge but fortunately, I changed career

Depending on the topic to be treated. If it is Handwriting or Moral or those small subject or topics, I may allow him Enjoy his sleep but if it is time for Math, especially to introduce new topic.

Bros, has to wake up. wink

Wake him up to learn. If you love him and want the best for him.

It's called tough love.
Re: IN ALL HONESTY: How Would You Advise This Classroom Teacher? by Originalsly: 3:43am On May 26
It depends on how long he was asleep. The body is like a battery... it needs to be recharged. If he has been sleeping for some time ...wake him...he has enough charge to fully function ..to pay attention and learn. If he just fell asleep ... if she wakes him he can't learn a damn thing.

Allow him to sleep. He is just a child. Should be at home playing.

If you allow him to sleep, that would breed indiscipline. Because the following day, another pupil may decide to sleep, since you didn't punish the first person, you have no right to punish the second. If you do, that is partiality. Don't start what you can't finish
