Nuhu Ribadu has just learned the kind of bitter political lesson many in the North keep learning the hard way under APC power politics.

Ribadu failed to study the brutal history of the office he occupied. The NSA seat is one of the most powerful positions in Nigeria, but it is also one of the most dangerous. Many who sit there rise fast, shine briefly, and fall suddenly.

I was expecting to see an expose but all I'm seeing are speculations..
The security situation now warrants the appointment of the retired Major General who will bring new ideas and experience to the table.

Northerners think Southerners see bandits "as our brothers" the way Ribadu claimed, but we don't.. we see them as vermins to be crushed completely.

It will never happen in the West for State Governors to be paying killers under guise of "repentant terrorists" while the widows of patriotic service men (soldiers, policemen, vigilantes etc.) killed by those terrorists are left to suffer, without help.. Only in the North will you find such and their people are quiet about such illegal and inhumane practice.

Wike is more powerful in this administration that the President could stake his neck to declare a state of emergency. The NSA is an adviser, nothing more than that. He only has much power as the president allows him to.

you're missing the point Special Adviser on Homeland Security is basically the same office as National Security Adviser and in this context, slightly higher meaning Ribadu has been tactically demoted as decisions have to now go through Famadewa to the president ie access reduced. It might be something, it might be nothing but I really like that Ribadu guy but I guess it's all politics

Sometimes one wonders the values that form the core from which Kperogi and Co are operating. Tinubu defied tradition to appoint the Ribadu, a former Police AIG, as the National Security Adviser. It is a first against odds because the Military are not agreeable to a Policeman as NSA.

Now, from all indications, has the NSA performed creditable in the face of the insecurity in the country? For the NSA to publicly refer to bandits and terrorists in the North as brothers go beyond a slip of the tongue to being a very serious blunder that would have seen the exit of some, particularly when you Ave a seemingly intractable security situation in the country.

Is it that Kperogi and Co want the North to be NSA at all cost and without accountability or loyalty to the Government and yet they are comfortable to vilify Tinubu on Yoruba agenda at the same time? That would amount to double speak and hypocrisy.
