Woman Cries Out as Kidnappers Demand ₦100 Million for Mother, Brother’s Release in Ogun

A woman has cried out for help after her mother and brother were reportedly kidnapped along the Ijebu Ode axis of Ogun State.

According to the woman, the incident occurred while her family members were travelling through the area before they were allegedly abducted by unknown gunmen. She said the kidnappers later established contact with the family and demanded ₦100 million as ransom for the victims’ release.

In an emotional appeal shared online, the woman narrated the painful ordeal and called on security agencies as well as members of the public to assist in securing the safe return of her mother and brother.

The development has triggered reactions from concerned residents and social media users, many of whom expressed worry over the growing cases of insecurity and kidnappings in parts of the country.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

In matters of security, the buck stops at the president's table. Amoda Tinubu is a monumental failure.

I don't think people should wait to be kidnapped before taking action. Instead of handing over 10 Million...100Million to kidnappers as ransom, travellers should pay for security escorts instead. It may not solve the problem, but the kidnapping frequency will reduce drastically.

It is not a lasting solution, moreover the kidnappers that you are talking about open fire while the car is moving, and sometimes they aim for the driver or the tire of the vehicle to cause accident, if some of us are talking, to some people it looks like we just want to make noise or we just hate Tinubu, but for me Tinubu should have been impeached a long time and should have never been president in the first place.

Personally I've removed mind from Nigeria because the reason why these evils are happening is more ideological, the best solution to me for now is to conduct referendum for every tribe in Nigeria and decide what they want as a country...

The Nigeria security system has been compromised and it’s evident the federal government of Nigeria is complicit. No way anyone will kidnap and use internet enabled devices and the law enforcement agencies are claiming they can’t apprehend the criminals.

It’s quite unfortunate that these same set of evil politicians are the ones circulating across all political parties of the country.
