Greetings Auto Gurus, Please advise on a choice between: · A 2008 Nissan Rogue (foreign used) · A 2004/2005 Toyota Camry (foreign used) Resale value is not a factor. My neighbor who majorly drives through bad roads daily is trying to decide which to pick. He plans to use the car for Uber business. His priorities are: · Reliability · Good ground clearance · Low maintenance costs · Durability Thank you.

kesmiraAutos:The Camry is your best bet given our environment. You won't struggle with maintenance as any mechanic can fix it, parts are available & for the business you want to embark on, it, the Camry offers you some peace of mind; it's reliable & durable. With the Roque, you have a good ground clearance but you will struggle with maintenance & spare parts availability. Mechanics will also mess up the electrical for you. It won't be tolerant to abuse like the Camry. For uber business, it's a no brainer. The only reason you may want to pick the Rogue over the Camry is to stand out. |

The Rogue uses a CVT which is notorious for its problematic nature especially when it is not maintained properly. Nissan is also known for complex electronics which requires professionals to handle when its problem arises; factor these in while making your decision. Like bravolad says above, for your intended purpose; the Camry is your best bet. In fact, it's a no-brainer. |

SonyaSpence: bravolad:Nissan could have many problems but electrical problems isn't one of them . I wonder how we conclude this. Now I know most opionios about cars are hearsay. A nissan rogue was fully submerged in water for 2 days . Guess What? Everything works as it should except the master door control which was replaced and everything as it should . |

Uber business in 2026 with foreign used cars?? Let me contribute For personal use, Nissan cars make their auto gearbox in cvt, very problematic on that brand, I have not seen a manual Nissan from 2004 upwards, so that being said, gearbox wahala is a minus, Toyota on the other hand is coincidentally custom made for Nigerians and Nigerian roads, I once used a sienna 2005, that was when I began respecting Toyota, the abuse on that saloon was scary , yet it kept going , sometimes that car will overheat due to coolant leak, the engine oil will dry up and the the vehicle will switch off on the expressway, after refilling oil and coolant, after cooling engine ,it still works like nothing happened, omo I fear Toyota oo Problem with Toyota is theft , that's the minus, you have secured place to park u are good, For Uber, Toyota bro, fuel consumption on that same sienna I used was unbelievable considering it was a v6, it worked really well with minimal fuel consumption for a v6 engine, Nissan for Uber ? Nono since there is option of a Toyota, the only Nissan that may survive ehailing now in Nigeria might be the micra I will suggest the Camry, even naija used still de deliver, how much more foreign used Ps The business no good again oo, so buying a foreign used of 10m plus might not be advised |

Go for Toyota.... If u want to do uber or bolt... Then u must be committed oh.. Start with a lot of working capital or money at hand like 200k..... And if you're in lagos, do only 3 or 4 trips per day.... If you're in Abuja, if you get mind do only night trips, that's where d money is.... Also stay strictly on business, don't make passenger friends.... Make money instead.... I wish you all the best... Though I won't advise going into the business but it's better than being idle |

I once use the roque for bolt before but not in Lagos. It was bought belgium na me lunch am with uber. Maintenance is fair for the first two years just oil change only and filter. You will have better customer who are willing to pay for offline trust me, like they will pay heavily. You must be careful with your driving mine came with right passengers bearing issues with low pumping ac. The a.c later affected me reason why i sold it off. The ac was a weight to the engine. If you can get Rav4 same year you will chop mulla. |

If it's possible get a Honda product, it's far far cheaper to maintain. But if u are stock between these two go for the Camry. |
