Yesterday i received a call from a friend who left for Portugal about a month ago, the lamentation for rent no be here o. 600k naira monthly when you convert the Euro amount to naira just for one room apartment in a five bedroom flat, shared toilet and kitchen with all the occupants of the other saperate rooms. A lot of bills, but minimum wage is about 900 euro.

The comparisons can weigh you down if you don't know your ways. However, she said there's jobs available, just the language barrier.

In all, life over there is still far better than Nigeria. We only need to fix our country because their's didn't fall from heaven, it was designed and fixed. We can do it too.

First step is to remove Tinubu and his APC group of thieves in 2027.
Gbam!
May God help us remove him now

As long as you earn, what's there in tax not to pay?

Is not simply paying some wereys to govern you?

I'd call it creative advertisement, if you ask me... I love it.

Instead of you to come out openly and promote your business your deceiving yourself using the back door...

This act alone shows your shipping service is not trustworthy.

I am currently looking for a reliable shipping service and this usered or whatever doesn't look like what can be trusted

You people and this tax mentality in your head, I don't understand where it came from. For example you get a job paying you £1,000 per month, when getting paid there will be a tax deduction of £10.
Now will that deduction affect you in any way knowing fully well that you still have £990 to keep?
You people that have never left your country will just sit down on internet when you have light to charge your phone and small money to buy data and just be commenting on issues you don't even know anything about except the lies some other people must have told you somewhere.

You will be very alright.
The cold weather is lovely.
Even during summer, the heat is mild and friendly compared to "hellfire" heat in Nigeria.

We wear thick clothings and there is 247 electricity to use heater unlike in Nigeria, crazy heat , no electricity to use AC.

While in Nigeria, I had very few friends and rarely had visitors over or visited people... After work, I stay home with my family. That's enough.

If you can travel,please do.
Just make sure you are working..
I relocated on a skilled worker visa after 4 years of planning.
I changed my mind in 2015. Some family circumstances made me changed my. How I wish I didn’t. I still regret that decision I made in 2015. It still haunts me to this day.

Things have really gone bad with this country. Wish I have the fund like I did then. APC is a business and growth killer, I swear!

Nobody writes this list so I will.

1. The cold is not just weather. It is a personality. It will change you.
2. You will spend the first 3 months converting every price to naira. Stop. You will not survive.
3. Nigerian food exists here but it will cost you emotionally and financially.
4. You will miss the most random things — the noise, the heat, the fact that someone is always around.
5. Sending things home is harder than it should be. Finding a reliable cargo service is a genuine life skill.
6. Your Nigerian friends here will become your family faster than you expect.
7. The NHS is genuinely free and it will confuse you every single time.
8. You will buy a coat, think it's enough, and be humbled by February.

What else would you add? And for number 5 — anyone use REDS (usereds.com)? Curious if others have tried them for UK→Nigeria and Nigeria→UK cargo.
Is the NHS really free. What do you think the national insurance is used for? This is aside income tax oo.

It's called insurance for a reason, some benefits greatly, others never use it in years.

Travel with a Plan. Travel with sense. Travel with your eyes open, and not with a rose colored lense. If possible, travel while maintaining a source of income in your home country.

People like me prefer to travel and return. Travel with a goal, acheieve it in a few months or not more than a year, and return home. For.me, there is no place like home.

He is only telling you that it is not all Rosey. I won't tell you not to travel though. It's good to go and make the money.
You people always speak like there is no money to be made in your home country. And that money can only be made abroad.

Part of the thinking is the exchange rate, but they dont factor in the high taxes and the fact that they wont be spending naira for their bills over there.

The biggest problem i see is that many people lack a sense of purpose and identity. So they are quick to go, wherever the crowds go and wherever the wind blows. A lack of purpose and warped money and survival driven mindsets.

One thing most folks who travel are not told or prepared for is, where you are going, there are people (selfish, greedy, less as hard working, scheming, mischievous, who see you as rivals, nosey-watching your every move; people who blame the government; entitled, wicked, racist / discrimatory/ unclear tax system, criminals especially during refund time etc) there too...take aside the 'working' system and you will see what everyone is running away from their ' home' from, is very, very, very present, infact more established/sophisticated than where we are coming from. The problems of the world do not stem from location, but more from people: man's fallen, continued journey from the 'east' rather than 'back to God's Odyssey and perpetual rebellion from God.
Return to God! Come, Let us return to The Lord

Guy, not everybody is borne in the same circumstance as you are, so dont assume..

Also, what do you mean by initial capital?. It is not about how much but how faithful and prudent you are to grow it.

I know a Woman who has sponsored children up to univerisy abroad with only plantain. beginning from humble retailer and roaster of plantain to a.major supplier.

Personally i would need to earn up to at least 20 x more, to live the quality of life over there that I am.living here. And i dont do.any illegal business.

A lot of you are just lazy and want fast money. But you will learn that there is no fast money anywhere.

you missed the point and took the post wrongly. Now calling a person you don't know Lazy proves you are way too lazy to digest the post and make an informed decision ,By initial Capital, it means the ready initial funds in Millions to start a business in Nigeria, If one can raise N50m and they are less than 30 years Old, the sky is their limit i n Nigeria cos they can do proper Biz, now tell me where in Nigeria can someone less than 30 raise N50m in savings to start business? What bank is g oing to give him that money? however if a 22 year old person comes to the UK legally, he can save that up easy if he wants to, very easy,YOu term fast money as being lazy,Coming abroad to earn quick is fast money and I kid you not, there aint nothing lazy about it, at 25, I had my masters Degree already in the UK.To save Ik pounds monthly is very easy for a young single person under 30 years old

Whatever makes you feel good.

While i avoid generalizing, I did see a common thread of lazy thinking in your initial response. And the fact that you jumped to millions further buttresses my suspicions.

You want to jump from zero to millions, which is how lazy minds think. You are not even ready to be faithful in 10,000 naira but you are lookimg for millions first, before you think you can start, millions that you dont believe you can ever have in naija except as a criminal. Yet you somehow find a way to have, when you want to japa. Oh, i guess that also is only by criminality. You See why i think you and such people are lazy mindedhuh

Maybe i was wrong. And , maybe i was right.

Meanwhile, I am at the point in my life, where my advance for legit work that doesnt require me reporting to any office is in the millions. So don't expect me to be intimidated by such amounts like you.

Nah its l azy people like you who think and allow the ills of the society weigh them, just like the wheelbarrow, it stays where you leave them until you start again, cos you cannot see beyond your nose, you do not realize in todays money 510 pounds is more than a million naira. In the UK and average single youth saves up to iK pounds a month and send home to his Nigerian account this is nearly N2m per month, you call this Lazy, all yah must be Dangote in your household, I'm stating facts here you are here talking gibberish. You tell me the laziness of someone saving almost N2m monthly through honest work in the UK,does this until they turn 30 and return to Nigeria to do his dream Business? I challenge you to show me the laziness in that. You mentioned criminality, my friend I think you are out of touch, people come to the UK to do Masters and find work afterwards. I know those who came via COS paid up to N20m and where being ridiculed but they have swap their COS unto the ministry of Justice and earn just below 40K pounds B4 overtime pays, My lil cozen he is 21,5yrs old, he does not want to live in the UK permanent, so he is keeping a low profile and saving all his earnings, he is going to do that for at least till he turns 30 so he says then Foxtrot Oscar to Nigeria ,he already banking lands, if all goes well he might just have up to N300 to 400m by the time he returns God willing, how's is this lazy?If you look deeply, you will realize that a sizeable percentage of all our politicians came abroad to hustle for their initial Money, ava look. You mentioned Intimidate, why would I want to do that,? and you also mentioned millions blah blahh blah, I don't engage in competition of measuring Dycks but whatever floats your paper, anyone can be anything online.

If your entire point was about 1) me discouraging people and 2) UK being better than any African country. Then i can respond.

1. I have not discouraged anyone from travelling. I have siblings (same mother and father)who are permanent residents in UK, Canada and US so i have a realistic picture of things. I am just asking people to not relocate based on illusions and false fantasies

2. UK is better than any African country? Better Based on what parameters. Taxes? Racism? Immigration issues? Cost of living? Weather? Do you know that the UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries on Earth? Or that it is one of the cloudiest, least sunny countries in the world? Do you know that there are at least 5 countries with much better GDP growth than the Uk? Do you know that every single African country except perhaps a few tiny island nations is larger than the UK?

Even if it is true that UK is better? Is everyone in UK better off than everyone in Africa? The obvious answer is a resounding NO! There are people who are poor in Uk and there are people who are rich in Africa. There are people like my Dad who can travel to the UK but dont like to stay even one day longer than they have to.

My key point is: "better" depends entirely on what metrics matter to you. So stop making generalizations like every African youth can only improve their chances if they Japa. That is what I mean by Lazy thinking.

P.S. Like many people working 3 jobs abroad, You can be hardworking but still Lazy in your thinking approach to success and wealth creation
.

I hope you understand where I am coming from and wont continue arguing just for the sake of disagreeing.
