Nigeria Ranks 1 In Global Extreme Poverty For 2026 by DONOCSO(op): 11:38pm On May 27
The number of Nigerians living in extreme poverty calls for some serious reflection.

For the year 2026, Nigeria is ranked as the number one country with the highest number of people living in extreme poverty globally.

Here is the breakdown of the top 4 from the chart:

Nigeria: 94,725,734 people

DR Congo: 81,896,433 people

India: 75,243,301 people

Pakistan: 58,226,238 people

Think about this critically: India has a population of over 1.4 billion people, yet we have almost 20 million more people living in extreme poverty than they do.

As a nation, we need to ask ourselves what is truly driving these numbers upward and how we can innovate our way out of it.

Is it a fundamental failure in our economic policies and a lack of robust activity in our investment and corporate sectors?

Is it a lack of grassroots financial inclusion and education around decentralized wealth-building systems?

Or do you think these statistics are flawed and do not reflect the reality on the ground?

Let’s discuss. What is the way forward for the average Nigerian?

Yet in the past two years, this government has borrowed more than all governments since 1960 combined. Over the entire period of time the APC has been in power, India has lifted over 300 million people from poverty. The APC has spent 12 years taking Nigeria backward.

Nigeria ranks no.1 globally in maternal mortality. Even worse than Afghanistan.
Nigeria has the worlds highest number of out of school children.
Nigeria has for the past 8 years remained at the top of the worst countries for a child to be born in.
3 out of 4 of the deadliest terrorist organisations worldwide are in Nigeria.
The country has the worst police force in the world.

I can go on and on. We can sugar coat and paper over issues all we want but the sad truth is this country is a failed country and there's no hiding from that.

It will be better to show it as percentage of people living in each country. I'm surprised a little bit by hight position of Pakistan. Looking at short video presentation of this country it seems that everything is ok:

India with About 1.4billion population and Nigeria with about 250million people.

African leaders are evil especially Buhari and Tinubu...both came to steal and destroy the nation.

When we say he didn't perform in Lagos those Genzies would be saying he is their Messiah from Oduduwa.

See how he has completely finished the country.

This is after borrowing far more than his precessors. And also removing Subsidies.

From 3rd Position to 1st . Thats a big Achievement by the Current Administration.

A big Trophy should be given to the President and his Supporters .

I pity Nigerians.

WHAT IS YOUR SOURCE?

HOW CAN YOU JUST POST SOMETHING LIKE THAT WITH NO SOURCE?

DID YOU DRAW IT IN YOUR BEDROOM?

POST A LINK TO YOUR SOURCE, OR YOUR POST IS BITTER OBIDIENT PROPAGANDA.

AND IT BETTER BE A CREDIBLE, OFFICIAL SOURCE FROM A RESPECTED INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION, NOT ANY MUSHROOM ENTITY WITH AN AGENDA.

OKAY?

Op, these guys you just mention to bring this to FP are very bias. They won't. Tribalism and Religious sentiment is what they are after. 90% of post on FP are annoying and irrelevant. And that's what they bring to FP. You will hardly see insightful and educative thread on FP.
