Hello guys, I bought the Airtel ZLT W154R PLUS (Airtel ODU) today, for 40,000 naira because I heard its unlimited. But I have an issue with the device. I stream videos in 4k and browse really fast. However, my download speed is terribly bad, as it download in kilobytes (50kb -300kb). How can browsing be so fast and download speed so slow? |

I think it's your settings because I have more than 2mbs on worst days |

Plotinus:I want to ask, 1. the 40k is it unlimited and for how long does it last. 2. How regularly it is to be recharged? |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by CodeTemplar: 9:56am On May 26 |
Plotinus:Commonsense. If you are allowed to download fast, you will unsettle their network. |

CodeTemplar:Well done ooo Airtel PPRO Commonsense indeed they should have pre- informed customers of the pros and cons if that is the case. Not collecting exorbitant amount like this and tagging it unlimited with high speed then giving customers far below their expectations. |

i also stay at ikotun around firdtbank, and the network is great. been using it since last year and i will rate it 80 percent. to the o.p, the wifi box will transmit 2 wifi network, connect the one with the 5ghz or 5g and tell us what you noticed. I hope there is 5g presence in your area, if not oyo is your case Badb0y4lyf: |

The 40k is for the first month, afyerwards you pay 25k monthly, and its truly unlimited Pentagon007: |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Plotinus(op): 6:08pm On May 28 |
There is 5g here but it appears as though the decoder doesn't pick the signal. As you can see from the attached picture, it says the 5g is strong, however, the sugnal bar for 5G appears blank while those of 4G are populated. I don't know what to make of it. Livegamesonly:

Its already on 5G, NSA only Livegamesonly: |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Livegamesonly(m): 9:03am On May 29 |
then maybe its a network issue due to where you installed the antenna, try moving the antenna to a different angle or get a pole and lift the antenna higher. there is 5g in your area but you are getting a weak signal. Those installers are quacks, i had to readjust my antenna by putting it on our overhead tank rod. its like a 2 storey building, so its high up enough. You can put an airtel sim in your phone, and try roam about the toppermost angles of your house to get the space with the best signal detection. Thats one of the reasons most people complain, that 5g network bar chart must be green on 5g or grey, but yours is not bringing any bar but there is 5g in your location so try take your outdoor antenna to another angle, and make sure the height of the antenna is at least a storey building high. Most peopele living in bungalows or low height house will always struggle with 5g connection because 5g antenna is not available in all base stations around you, only on selected few, so you need the antenna to be in an open space high enough without obstruction from other houses, or objects Plotinus: |

Thanks a lot bro, I will try it Look at where the installer installed it. I feel this might be the reason Livegamesonly:

just imagine. try get a rod, and take your antenna up high to where your gp tank is and recheck the signal, it might cost you more wires, but its worth the try, just remove everything and install in a high position, then check the signal. Airtel is good, its just the quack installers. Used about 680gb this month alone. Plotinus: |

Plotinus:When we tell una say nothing ever is TRUEly unLimited, una go think say we jamTalk. |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by bassdow: 2:46pm On May 31 |
bassdow:Now they've given you the unLimted you craved for, then put measures in place to ensure you don't use it hence unLimited becomes Limited. |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by aieromon(m): 2:46pm On May 31 |
Plotinus:You do not have 5G signals in your location as shown in the radio signal screen on the left. Note that the current 5G NSA deployed by Airtel and MTN rides on the existing 4G infrastructure. Nevertheless, you will enjoy great 4G+/LTE+ speeds on your capped 50mbps plan.

Plotinus:Another is, Network strength is often Location dependent. Some people dey enjoyy Glo while some go curse you if you recommend Glo to them. Same with all other networks |

Livegamesonly:Please, how many devices (both TV and Phones) can be connected to it? Wanted to go for the MTN fibre whatever, since they started connecting the wire in my area few weeks back, now I'm hearing of this one. Same #25,000 (except the initial 40k for Airtel installation) now confused which one to go for. |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Harddiskng(m): 2:58pm On May 31 |
CodeTemplar:Commonsense. Why in the seven worlds would a network throttle down download speed to 500kb just for this flimsy excuse after i paid a whooping N40,000 ![]() I don’t even want to understand how some of you guys think. |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by SpecialAdviser(m): 2:59pm On May 31 |
Airtel ODU works very fine for me. The best experience if I may say |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by LordReed(m): 2:59pm On May 31 |
Plotinus:Airtel ODU has been a bad decision from the day I got it. I wish I had gone with MTN now. |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Agent8706(m): 3:01pm On May 31 |
Plotinus:Your location could be the issue. Or the positioning and maybe height of the ODU could be the issue. What you need to do is increase the height of the ODU or change the position. If you want to take it crazier, get a pole and mouth the ODU as you would with a GOTV antenna and you should be able to get good signal quality. I get speeds of up to 100MBps when all is well with Airtel. And the day they are high on their madness, I experience KPbs speeds |
| Re: Airtel ODU: My Experience As A First Time User by Checkwell: 3:04pm On May 31 |
Airtel ways no pure. MTN gives you more value than others in Nigeria who over-promise and under-deliver. |
