I read recently that in army recruitment drives to beef up security forces, those from the SE had by far the smallest number volunteers to join the army and police.

You're missing a lot and most importantly the point. Don't make this about a particular region or geographical location. The army and police here are not well funded and lots of their personnel have lost their lives through the negligence of past administration and this present one. You can't ask people to sacrifice their lives in a shithole where politicians are stealing with reckless abandonment while the masses cry on daily basis. I expect this administration on day one to declare state of emergency on insecurity and commit state resources to ensure we get total victory in our fight against insurgency.

Choosing a profession or career is by choice, you can't force Obidients to join NA, Nigerians including Obidients are in war front all over the world, tell the government to make Army attractive so Nigerians can join.
