NDC Primaries Hold Nationwide May 29

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has made clarifications regarding its scheduled Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship, and State Assembly primaries. The primaries are still scheduled to hold nationwide on May 29, 2026, in keeping with the original May 28 and 29 timetable.

However, in view of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and the resulting public holidays, major transportation and logistical challenges have arisen, including the non-availability of flights. Consequently, many aspirants who were in Abuja for the screening exercise, as well as members of the screening team, are currently stranded in Abuja.

Consequently, the party has decided that May 28 should be used for arrivals, documentation with INEC and security agencies, consultative meetings, and other preparations, while the actual primaries will now hold on May 29.

The teams will use May 28 to also hold meetings with stakeholders, party elders, as well as aspirants in their respective states.

No agencies of the state, viz: Police, INEC, DSS, etc., are to play any role in the programmes and meetings of May 28. Any activities carried out outside these guidelines would be unauthorized and deemed illegal.

The processes of the primaries on May 29 will be as follows:

1. Presidential affirmation
2. National Assembly primaries/affirmation
3. State Assembly primaries/affirmation
4. Governorship primaries/affirmation

The respective teams will collate and process all results and forward them to the National Headquarters, where the National Working Committee will announce the results.

No state executive or team has the mandate to announce any results.

We call for understanding and urge all participants to conduct themselves responsibly, as the party has zero tolerance for violence, disorderly conduct, and hooliganism.

Signed:
Senator Moses Cleopas
National Chairman

Barr. Ikenna Alex-Morgan Enekweizu
National Secretary

Aisha Yesufu @AishaYesufu

WHO IS AFRAID OF PRIMARIES?

Election is not won by social media propaganda nor by orchestrated smear campaign. Election is won by engaging electorate one wishes to serve respectfully and with empathy and compassion.

My dear FCT Residents, especially those who are registered members of our great party Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) let’s remain focused first, on the number one priority of promoting our great party and secondly on choosing candidates that will best represent us. The time of voting or making choices out of fear is gone. This time we will make our choices out of courage and belief in the mantra: POWER BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE!

To my teeming supporters across the FCT do not be deterred, continue your ground work across the 62 wards. We are ready to meet them on the primaries ground!
Let me repeat,

WHO IS AFRAID OF PRIMARIES?

Prosperity @yeripros

LET US BE HONEST!

This woman, Barr. Amanda Pam is far more rooted in FCT politics over the years than Aisha Yesufu. She knows her way around FCT voters. Go and read her profile or CV.

While I support Aisha Yesufu's ambition and the Obidient sensation also backs her drive, it is important to state that Amanda Pam may win Aisha in a direct primaries; not for anything else but because of the fact that Amanda Pam came early into the party and has established party structures in FCT as well as facilitated reasonable membership registration.

The fact that we like Aisha Yesufu doesn't mean we should cast aspersions on other Aspirants who don't fall within our emotional orbit. You don't even know the capacity of this woman but you want to crucify her for vying for the same ticket with your celebrity.

A young party like the NDC cannot survive this individualistic approach most of you are promoting. It's either you support the party or you go elsewhere.

By Thursday or Friday, we would know who has been given a ticket or not.

PRESS STATEMENT

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to inform the general public that our party primaries are scheduled to hold tomorrow, 29th May 2026.

It is therefore impossible and illogical for any primary results or winners to have emerged when the primaries are yet to take place.

We strongly urge the public and all well-meaning Nigerians to completely disregard the fake NDC primary results and false rumours currently circulating. Any result that does not emanate from official party sources should be disregarded.

NDC remains committed to a transparent and credible primary process. We appeal to all our supporters and registered members to stay vigilant and ignore any unverified information.
Thank you.

Let the contest begin. At the very least, the NDC has demonstrated that it is distinct from other political parties by not collecting money for candidates until they win.

To dream is natural, and to hallucinate is one thing that is not only natural but can be induced by taking hard drugs.

I can see that you have both factors working on your body.

Atiku couldn't win elections when he had 16 governors, senators and house members, and Delta state vaults thru Okowa....so you expect him to win now.

Continue to dream and hallucinate.

The 2027 General Elections is going to replace some of the politicians seen as threat to the system with new set of Yea Men politicians. But the smart and influential ones who identify with a good opposition shall clinich the position as their teaming supporters will always support them irrespective of the political party.

Re: NDC Primaries Hold Today by adams123: 9:13am On May 29
How many people will understand ADC & NDC difference on election day with the level of illiteracy in the country? Instead of both parties to unite against the ruling party you have collected money to pave way for continuity of the tinubu government.
May the best person be elected as our president coming 2027.

As for me, my candidate is Sowore. My reason is that he hasn't been tested with a public office before as those tested before failed us in my personal assessment.
Tinubu failed,
Atiku, his government with OBJ failed.
Obi failed as governor

There is nothing like Primaries .

They are just going to announce candidates selected in Dickson's parlour.

Useless party.

So, Peter Obi escaped primary election. What a weakling!
We have to go back to the NASS to end this madness by ensuring every political party recognised by INEC must conduct primaries and each political party must ensure their primaries involve only bonafide registered card carrying members and that there must be an accrediting system and members will vote using their smart IDs that has been linked to their NIN.

All this madness by Giringori should not be tolerated anymore.
