A viral video footage of armed men alleged to be men of the Nigerian police force in civilian clothes confronting and threatening an estate security personnel in Lekki, Lagos, after he requested confirmation from management before allowing entry has drawn strong criticism.

The incident which occurred at a gated residential estate where private security routinely verifies visitor access to maintain resident safety amid Nigeria's security challenges, has made social media users demand an investigation into the identity of the armed men.

'I will kill you here and nothing will happen'

One of the armed men says as he tries to hold on to the security guard.

Many have already began tagging police officials and demanding investigation into the armed men's conduct.
