Arne Slot is to leave Liverpool with immediate effect, according to reports. The Reds manager, who has been under intense pressure after an underwhelming 2025-26 campaign, will depart the club, with Andoni Iraola having been tipped as his replacement.

Iraola the strong favourite to replace Slot

Departing Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola is now expected to be the front-runner to replace Slot in the Anfield dugout. The Spaniard has enhanced his reputation significantly during his time in charge of the Cherries, assembling a competitive squad that achieved a remarkable sixth-placed finish, improving on an already-impressive ninth place achieved in 2024-25.

I watched Antoine Semenyo's interview on Iraola's training methods at Bournemouth and I was shocked. They might work in a small club with modest ambitions like Bournemouth. In a big club like Liverpool, he will likely lose the dressing room in a record time.

Slot was just lucky to have won the EPL last season due to the number of injuries suffered by Arsenal players and their tiny squad depth.

What helped Arsenal this season was there huge squad depth.

You don't follow football. The board sold him because they refuse to pay him a much better pay that reflect his performance. same way they did it to Mane. they were lucky to have Diaz who made them not to feel so much about Mane absent but with him gone, Liverpool was badly exposed cos the hitman Salah was out of form in this last season.
