Election is coming.
They're all doing this to push Tinubu's second Term.
It's not about Tinubu 2nd term. The Govs know that they've not been doing well for the populace. All attack has been against Tinubu at the center while the Govs were living the life of emperor in their respective state. It's their proposal and it doesn't emanate from Tinubu.

Giving the prevailing economic conditions, minimum wage should be in the range of 200K to 250K! Some states are already paying 100k, so what's the difference? If government truly want to cushion the effects of the high inflation rate on workers, minimum wage should be raised to at least 200k.

Nigerian workers are currently the worst hit by the high cost of living in the country. Traders have since increased the prices of their goods. Artisans have equally increased prices of their services likewise transporters increased transport fares. Landlords too have increased rents by over 300% in most places, yet civil servants still earn peanuts! NLC and TUC must fight hard to get the minimum wage raised to at least 200K before next year's election!

Are the governors in charge of security?

Most governors are more confident of second term than presido.

That is not what we need now, we need living age.
Countries that earn living wages have it within 500 and 2,000 in there local currencies per month and not 100,000 which is another poverty expansion programme.

The higher the minimum wage in naira, the higher prices of goods and services with more Nigerians becoming poorer.

Sequential adjustment is the problem for top civil servants. Its not just about giving 100k to the lowest newly employed and adding only 5k to those on higher levels. My level should have like 700k salary based on Sequential adjustment.

Re: Governors Propose ₦100,000 As New National Minimum Wage by WizardOfNG: 7:16pm On May 30
Realistically, it should be 250k taking into account hyperinflation and fuel subsidy removal knock-on effect increasing expenses across several living cost for Nigerians.

Yet government and private sector cannot afford that so increases like this, if they arrive frequently as the economy improves, will help Nigerians considerably and improve their quality of life.

Even the 70k,some states haven't paid!
Some states are still paying 33k as minimum wage!
They are proposing 100k after they have discovered most citizens are not happy with them including the president!
Secondly, the proposed amount of 100k is still too low in terms of value!
House rent and Food stuffs have all tripled!
No state is paying 33k Sir

Minimum wage should be 500k if you're working for government.

There lies the biggest scam ever. It means nothing when an increase in minimum wage doesn't cut across all sectors and this increase also comes with an increased inflation rate.

Why is there nothing worth bringing to the campaign table from federal level?

Omo this regime is too wack.

It has never been this bad.

Tinubu needs to go!

Continuous increments is not the solution but the fundamentals should be addressed.

If dey leave road land infrastructure, then use the money to be paying subsidy, na una go still cry say bad roads bad infrastructure bad govt. Politics of hatred is not good, even if ur candidate that u like later entrr, the way you are wishing the opponent u are not supporting bad, there opponents will also wish urs bad too. So at the end who suffers? Ordinary Nigerians

Minimum wage does not raise prices of goods and services the way increase in fuel prices do. The major driving forces that seem to raise prices in the markets are increased fuel prices and the exchange rates of the naira to dollar.

Chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said the governors were actively engaging with the Federal Government and organised labour to arrive at a wage structure that is fair to workers and sustainable for government finances.

If implemented, will only end up making the prices of things go up too. Rather, they should focus on improving the economy
