A lot of psychological stress and trauma from nosey, loud, dirty, and competitive neighbours who showed it to my face that it is over for me at 34 because I live in a shared rented apartment with my mum and one of my siblings. Not my fault, I lost my sales job due to my inability to meet with targets, which was a result of the company not being registered in Nigeria but operating under two dealerships with an over-profit mentality. There's this old single Calabar woman in front of my apartment who’s into hoelosho business by bringing different guys to her apartment despite having a paid job, and often disturbs everyone with her rubbish. As if that's not enough, she plays loud music early in the morning and late into the night to the extent that I get disoriented indoors sometimes. And the second set is the loud noise from the Igbo children (about 8 of them) in the morning, afternoon and evening. No moment of rest. The Landlord installed a fake pumping machine, bathroom equipments, and an inferior wiring system. It's a 2-room self-contained apartment and there are more than 7 blocks in the house. |

My biggest challenge is Tenants want everything free. They don't like to pay for anything. You will beg them to pay for water, light, security, waste management, cleaners fee. Even to change the bulb in their frontage na problem. |

My neighbors' ward in the opposite block bringing bedbug into my parlor. Up till now, I have tried 4 times to remove the bedbug from my sofa. I have bought chemicals and used but I still see them after two weeks. I have really really suffered. Once it is 12am dot, they will start coming out like zombie when I flash light on corner areas. It smells very very very bad when I kill it. This experience is very painful ![]() |

The one I stay presently, owner is asking me to remove my AC because I am not using her conduit installation. The conduit is bad and to use it, I will need to remove the entire pipe and reconstruct it. I've drilled hole. But she insists I use conduit. Whereas in one of my commercial houses, a tenant installed solar panel on my roof even when the agreement says otherwise. I'm not fighting him. He should just sign an undertaking of fixing the roof before he leaves when it's time |

Backlinker01:this normal in Nigeria unless you live high cost areas. I have lived in a ghost hunted duplex before. Almost everyday whenever it clocks 11pm-2am in the night , you would start hearing strange things inside the house. Sometimes it comes as cruel screams, sometimes heavy footsteps and sometimes unexplained Loud banging of doors and windows. I stayed there for 2full months before leaving. Funny thing was that I never believed such things happens I finally had that experience. Infact there was a weekend that two of my male friends visited me , I told them about me but they doubted me. The very 1st day they came , things started happening. They were watching movie in the palour while I was in my room working. Immediately it was few minutes after 11pm , they ran into my space with fear written over their face. They said they heard some cries of beasts and that there was some bang on the door of the palour. My lady had the same experience only that it came in form of a dream where they nearly choked her to death before I willingly packed out. Things dey happen oh but you no go believe till it happens to you. |

Well, I experienced mine in Upper East region of Ghana, Bolgatanga. There was no water in the compound. I either pay someone or just by myself go to the mechanical or manual borehole where I'd have to forcefully pull down the handle of the tap to obtain water. It was a strenuous exercise. But what to do? ![]() Even when the local authority later built water board in the district, my cheapskate, stingy landlord couldn't even connect the water pipes to his house because of the costs. The guy man go connect am near one of his rented small building of two rooms that were close to the roadside where the main pipes from the waterboad ran through. I had to use wheelbarrow to go from the main house where I live, to where he placed the tap which was like 4 houses away. When it was rainy season, I'd do less of that as I would be using some of the rain water to supplement. Omo, my body hear am that time. Well, it was all part of my life's experiences sha |
