brain54:Yes 1M might sound ridiculous but trust me 1M is nothing today, way back as at 2004, 100k then is more than 1M today. Purchasing power of Naira is nothing to write home about. If we should tell ourselves the truth no workers is supposed to be earning less than 500k |
| Re: ₦100,000 Minimum Wage Too Low, Workers Deserve ₦1m - NLC by RodgersAkpafu: 4:21pm On Jun 01 |
what workers deserve is for their "take home pay" to "take them home" |

Iseddy:The question is not if it is a lot of money or not... The question is 1 million realistic for monthly minimum wage? |

Even the N1m is too much for those unproductive parasites. Took me more than 2 years to renew my Nigerian driver's license and these sloths want a million? |

brain54:It is bad governance and corruption that makes you think it's not realistic. The man is just trying to say what workers deserve in this current economy. Do you know that in 2004 you can get over 160 bags of cement for 100k but today 1M cannot get you 100 bags of cement. A lot of people are seeing 1M as one big money in this economy 😂. Imagine minimum wage currently is around $50 is shameful na. At least $300 to $500 would be fair |

NLC is just stupid. |
| Re: ₦100,000 Minimum Wage Too Low, Workers Deserve ₦1m - NLC by brain54(m): 4:53pm On Jun 01 |
Iseddy:Being realistic is factoring bad governance and corruption... What is deserved is different from what is realistic. I'm not arguing with you 1m is a lot of money. I'm just saying it's not realistic as minimum wage based on the situation available at the moment! |
| Re: ₦100,000 Minimum Wage Too Low, Workers Deserve ₦1m - NLC by Iseddy: 4:54pm On Jun 01 |
onyxo76:😂 Minimum wage does not really cause increase in price of items..... larger drivers of price increases are often: Currency depreciation (a weaker naira makes imports more expensive). Higher fuel and transportation costs. Electricity and energy costs. Supply chain disruptions. Interest rates and money supply. Security issues affecting agricultural production. Taxes, tariffs, and government policies. |

These NLC act as if na only their workers dey this Nigeria... No wonder people pay A LOT to join government work Na only their matter them dey consider, what happens to others that ain't government workers? NLC should fight for something that'll affect ALL Nigerians positively, not just a selected few |

Iseddy:The value of money is inversely proportional to the volume of money. This means the higher the minimum wage in naira, the more naira becomes valuesless with more Nigerians thrown into poverty. |

Gboss247:Ask yourself was it minimum wage that is causing this current hardship? All this problem started with the removal of subsidy and floatation of exchange rate. The subsidy money where is going into? Instead they are still borrowing more money on top increase in taxes... Because workers are crying out some of you are seeing them as enemies of the masses |
