How did Lere have access to INEC servers ?

You have now come back to this nonsense angle after I debunked all your lies of Lere hacking INEC servers.

Go to the original thread that was created by an obidient that said Lere hacked INEC server and see the pics Lere posted and come back here with it and let me school you properly

Which privacy?

PVC information is public information as long as it is not used for impersonation.

Even at that, as a candidate running for public office, every relevant information submitted to INEC including your PVC details are open to public scrutiny.
after, you go dey pretend like say you get sense but this your comment na confirmation say make nobody ever take you seriously for life. Why did Lere delete that post ? He knows fully well he's not authorized for backend access neither does he have the right to publicize his findings but average sewage must react cool

Lere Olayinka recently came under heavy criticism from Nigerians after leaking Ike’s voter information through an INEC administrative webpage.

That image was taken from a phone of a computer screen.

The address bar on that computer showed it was from a local ethernet connection .

Whoever took that phone camera shot did it physically and not via remote access.

Secondly, why are we back to Lere hacking INEC servers?

Are you not longer joining Emeka crase man to sue Lere for "privacy invasion"?

Pathetic!

You are complaining of common primary election result that is in INEC website that is for public view yet you people travelled all the way to Chicago City University to demand the release of Tinubu academic result which happens to be his private credentials against his personal wish through both coercion and court order but he vehemently defeated you people. You never see anything!

Oga go to court and stop blabbing...

Whenever I see a Nigerian threatening to take anyone to court I never take them serious.

If someone infringed your rights take him to court.

Everything else lere said is true ( asides violating your privacy ofcourse which I don't support)... at least the part where he said you should have contested in your place.

Emeka ike did politics at the actors guild level and isn't exactly a trustworthy and good one. He comes across as a confusionist when it comes to Politics.

Many of these people are just looking for a way to cross into politics to have a piece of the national cake not because they have the interest of serving.

Political positions in Nigeria should be made unlucrative and unattractive so only those with the interest of the country should seek for positions!
gbam!!

He posted details of Emeka's PVC as captured from an INEC computer .

So how does this in anyway constitute to invasion of privacy ?

For your information, anyone can approach their local govt INEC office to request for details of any candidate contesting an election .

INEC is compelled by law to give access to anyone seeking information as contained in INEC 's care be it PVC data and INEC forms submitted by a candidate standing for election.

No law was broken here and your fellow Obidients were twisting it that Lere had access to INEC servers which was a big fat lie...

Some aspects are private.
If not, WHY CAN'T YOU AND I access the same server?
YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO PERSONAL VOTER INFORMATION.

PROVE IT!
If you approach inec for the details of a particular aspirant upon payment of a prescribed fee, you will be provided as contained in the law. The details of a person seeking public office is not private... education is really essential.

Chai what a shame some set of people we share country with. Countries that know what they are doing have laws and standards that govern unauthorized disclosure of personally identifiable information (PII).

We have ISO 27001, Nist standards, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, NDPA and many more that prevents organizations and government institutions from disclosing PII o individuals.

The problem is most don't even know these laws exists because of our naivety. Some are shouting it's publicly available, even though they know it's hard to access them because I'll need to know for instance, which local government you registered at, among other personal details like your dob, before the information can be accessed.

This is before we starts talking about unauthorized access to the INEC backend, where, I am also certain, election results will be updated by administrators among other functions.

We need to know our rights as citizens and stop politicizing every matter that arises.

From the few comments I have read so far, I can deduce that we deserve the leaders we get.

How will sane people defend Leres action? He got a private information of someone from the backend [admin] and you see no wrong in that?

I think some of the people supporting/defending Lere needs to know the duty of NDPC, who a Data controller, Data processor and a Data subject is?

Which back end servers?

Did you not see that the image Lere posted was from a phone captured image of a computer screen ?

Even the address bar shows that the page being viewed was from a local ethernet connection meaning the data was accessed not by the web through normal HTTPS connection but from local archive server.

There was nothing remote about that image.

The picture was taken via a phone camera of an INEC computer portal connected to a local ethernet data server.

Whoever took that phone camera image did it in INEC office .

So rest.

It appears you are the one lacking in understanding after all. Ike is an aspirant and not a candidate whose information can be requested for from INEC.

I don't have time for this infantile behavior.

Let me lay out the law plainly: under the Freedom of Information Act and the Nigeria Data Protection Act, if you request voter information from INEC, they are legally bound to protect citizen privacy.

Even if they grant the request, they are mandated to redact all sensitive, private data first. An official disclosure must be a Certified True Copy (CTC) issued through formal channels—not an unauthorized screenshot of a backend administration server.

So I will ask you again: which specific provision of the laws you quoted supports Lere's position? Otherwise, show us evidence that you can access a similar file showing the backend information present in Emeka's case.

I don't know how some of you reason. What is the purpose of posting his personal details for the public to see? Accessing the information is not the issue, but making it public is. There's a case there

Is there anything to suggest that Lere hacked into INEC servers ?

If anything that image he posted was taken by a phone camera of a computer portal screen at INEC hq.

You can even see the address bar on that screen showing it was from archived local ethernet server not connected to the web.

So whoever took that image with their phone did so in an INEC office.

Shifting goal posts is not being ready.

Every aspirant data with INEC is open to public scrutiny.

That's the law.

There's no privacy with the information submitted by an aspirant to INEC.

If Emeka wasn't an aspirant, INEC will not have given anyone access to his PVC page

But being that he is an aspirant, the information he has with INEC is no longer protected under privacy laws.

Do you hide your CVs from your would be employer.
