Suspected gunmen on Tuesday night attacked an office of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, carting away weapons belonging to officers on duty.

[i]The attack reportedly occurred at about 10 p.m., causing panic among residents of the area[/i].

Sources familiar with the incident disclosed that the assailants stormed the facility and overpowered security personnel before making away with their firearms.

An immigration officer, who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, confirmed the incident in a message sent to Daily Trust on Wednesday evening.

The officer, however, did not provide further details regarding the number of attackers involved or whether any casualties were recorded during the operation.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

With the invasion of Kwara and Kogi, it is expected.

If care is not taken, they will progress to Ogun and Lagos and what will happen after that, only God knows.

Before it was Kwara, now it is Ogbomoso, from Ogbomoso it will be the turn of Oyo, from Oyo to Ibadan, Ibadan to Abeokuta and from Abeokuta to Lagos.

It is glaring that Ogbomosho is under siege. Yet, the governor, police, Kings, local government chairmen and other leaders won't be proactive to this. They will politicized it. I know some people will be saying the attack is because of the crisis between the king and muslim leadership in the town. Some will say it because Makinde is contesting for president. Karma seems to be catching up with Tinubu. The same tactics he and his APC allies once used to discredit a functioning government are now being deployed by his own former colleagues. They are openly exposing his lack of direction and highlighting what many see as his inability to handle both critical and trivial matters of governance.
