Protesters were demonstrating against the deputy Supreme Court president's order to step up enforcement of arrests of draft dodgers. Windows were smashed, garden planters were broken and the windshield of Solberg's car was shattered. The justice and his wife were inside the home during the riot.

Dozens of Haredi rioters vandalize home of Supreme Court Justice Solberg

Dozens of Haredi protesters arrived Wednesday evening near the home of Deputy Supreme Court President Justice Noam Solberg, protesting rulings related to increased enforcement of arrests of deserters from the Haredi community.

In a statement on the riot, police said: "In the past hour, Judea and Samaria District Police officers were called to the community of Alon Shvut following a disturbance and damage caused to the home and property of a Supreme Court justice by dozens of rioters. Police forces from the Judea area arrived at the scene and have detained dozens of suspects at this stage."

In addition, a bus carrying rioters who had arrived at Justice Solberg's home was taken to the Kiryat Arba police station. Most of the bus was filled with Haredi rioters.

According to reports from the scene, the protesters shouted slogans against the judicial system and tried to approach the residential compound. During the protest, windows in the home were smashed and the windshield of Solberg's car was also shattered. Clashes were reported at the scene with police forces, who worked to push the protesters back and prevent them from entering the private property.

During the incident, a rapid response squad was also called up and arrived to assist forces on the ground. According to sources familiar with the details, the riot was dispersed within about 15 minutes, after which full control was restored at the scene and the protesters were removed from the area.

Justice Noam Solberg and his wife were inside the home during the riot, officials said. When the incident began, the two called police and requested assistance. In addition to the smashed windows, damage was caused inside the home as well. Sources close to the justice said the couple remained shaken by the exceptional incident and by the violence directed at their home.

What the judge they attacked did was to give a ruling asking the government to enforce call up notices on them
