The law needs to be amended to allow civilians to own and carry high-calibre arms. Only then will fulani bandits become normal again cos as it stands, the government is not able to protect even soldiers, but they protect bandits and even rehabilitate them with perks.

Re: Lady Narrates Kidnapping Incident At Becky 2 Estate, Abuja by dgr8truth(m):
There are many reasons for the growing insecurity in our country, and one of the most significant is the environment that has been created by successive governments. When criminality is not met with swift justice and appropriate consequences, it becomes attractive to those who believe they have little to lose. A society where crime carries minimal risk but potentially high rewards inadvertently creates incentives for more criminal behaviour.

Beyond law enforcement, economic realities also play a major role. While poverty does not automatically make someone a criminal, a nation that fails to create opportunities for its citizens inevitably increases the pool of people vulnerable to criminal recruitment and exploitation. Gainful employment, quality education, and economic empowerment are among the strongest long-term weapons against insecurity. When these are lacking, frustration, desperation, and social unrest often follow.

Unfortunately, these challenges are largely the result of poor leadership and weak institutions. Rather than focusing on delivering good governance, many political actors have mastered the art of diverting public attention. Whenever citizens begin to demand accountability, efficient governance, or solutions to pressing national problems, the conversation is often reframed along ethnic, religious, or regional lines. As a result, people who should be united in demanding better governance become divided into competing camps, defending politicians who have failed them.

The tragedy is that insecurity does not respect ethnic, religious, or political boundaries. The monster that is tolerated today because it appears distant will eventually affect everyone. The consequences of poor governance, corruption, and insecurity spread beyond the immediate victims. What starts as someone else's problem eventually becomes a national crisis.

This is why meaningful change requires a unity of purpose among citizens. Sadly, such unity remains elusive because many people view each incident of insecurity through the lens of identity politics rather than as an attack on the collective well-being of the nation. As long as victims are seen as "them" rather than "us," a coordinated national response will remain difficult.

I deeply sympathize with the victims of insecurity. Their suffering should remind us that the cost of indifference is far too high. Until citizens collectively demand competence, accountability, justice, and economic opportunity from those who govern, the cycle is likely to continue. The uncomfortable truth is that the insecurity we see today is not merely a security problem—it is the cumulative result of failures in leadership, governance, and national solidarity.

Eventually, the consequences of those failures will reach everyone. The chicken, as the saying goes, will come home to roost. When that day comes, it may be too late to wish we had acted sooner.

The APC in collaboration with Bola Tinubu brought in these bandits to destabilize Goodluck Jonathan's administration. Full circle don evolve now. Bola Tinubu CANNOT guarantee the safety of Nigerians as Commander In Chief. He should resign.

There hasn't been a tangible reaction from the government on their stance on banditry and kidnapping. Reason why it will continue to intensify. The guys see it as a go ahead, so they continue to expand their network.

A government that cannot guarantee protection of it's citizen has no reason to govern. A threat that Connot be neutralize by the Nigerian military within 24hrs come from within.

I can count one thousand things that this government can do to stop this nonsense, but they won't do it. They also know what to do, they have intelligent people in their cabinet.

For all the wrong the Army did to this country, that era was the most productive era in the entire post colonial era.

There was security of lives and property, food security, exchange rate was solid, good roads, law and order. As far back as 84, my mom boarded a train from Gudi in Nasarawa State to Kano State. Today, apart from Abuja and Kogi, there's no single functioning rail system in the entire Middle Belt.

The major issue people had with the military was lack of free speech. Today, you are still not free to say anything you want.

What led us here is lawlessness and the kind of democracy we practice can never bring law and order back to this country. The country is gone to the dogs.

Let the Army take over Nigeria, even if it's for just two years. They need to restore law and order in this country cos the lawlessness is mind blowing

Death happens when you kill someone or when you kill. Each has their consequences that you can't escape from.

If you're a soldier and your superiors give you an order to kill a pregnant woman. Failure to do so would mean being killed yourself. Would you do it?

Now, Kullozone, say you refuse to kill the pregnant woman, does that make you a fool or does it make you look weak?

If you kill that pregnant woman, you've also killed a part of yourself. So is it not better your superiors kill you than you kill that pregnant woman?

Now Imagine after all said and done, you eventually got killed for disobedience, does that mean that you consented to your death through refusal to kill another!?

Now use this lens to look at a particular religion that celebrates using the blood of an innocent man that refused to renounce his teachings. They said that since he didn't defend himself from getting killed, then it means that he came to die for their sins.

Same way Charlie Kirk and Gandhi came to die for the sins of America and India respectively grin

I honestly don't know why you guys keep saying this nonsense. Jonathan was the most powerful man in Nigeria at some point. He controlled the Army, Police, Navy, Air force, Immigration, Customs and every security apparatus. Yet, some private citizens brought people to destabilise his government and they won? What level of incompetence was that?

Tinubu is the most powerful man in Nigeria today. Yet again some fools like Sunday Igboho came out to tell us some people are doing xyz to destabilise Tinubu's government. So who are those people that are more powerful than Tinubu that controls the Armed Forces?

If Tinubu and Buhari destabilised Jonathan's government, who is destabilising Tinubu's government? Jonathan and Tinubu are both useless and incompetent.

Sadly, Jonathan went a step further to show weakness. Unfortunately for you guys, Tinubu is not Jonathan. He'll win his election and you'll all gather here to cry about rigging.
