The Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Saliu Yakubu Danladi (SYD) was on Friday announced as the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) flag bearer in 2027 governorship election.



The chairman Kwara State governorship primary committee/returning officers, Sen Musiliu Obanikoro, said the APC candidate polled: 94,990 votes to defeat his closest running mate, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki with 41,500 while Bashiru Omolaja Bolarinwa got 22, 118 in the just concluded state-wide exercise.



According to Ambassador Obanikoro, Raheem Oloriegbe scored 3,910, Muhammad Bio (1,122), Muhammad Belgore (3,411) and Toyin Alabi with 1,099.



Obanikoro enjoined all aspirants to absorb the scenario with sportsmanship and call to duty as loyal party members.

Earlier, Obanikoro hinted that the Thursday primary was shifted for logistics reason, appreciating the members for their belief, trust and steadfastness to the party.



“We appreciate your [members] toughness, loyalty and confidence in APC for trooping out enmasse for today’s primary, by that, you have shown the world that you are ready to win 2027 governorship and other elections,” he said.



Earlier, the party’s state chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, in his welcome address at the state Banquet Hall, was elated that the issue was brought under control, “elsewhere, the situation could have led to chaos, but in our own case, God saw us through,” he said.

Pure Yorubas are less than 40% of the population of Kwara State. Nupe, Fulani/Yoruba (Gambari), Wawa i.e. Tribes from from Baruten and Kaima LGA formed more than 60% of the population of Kwara State.

U didn't follow the governor well he promised Kwara north the ticket since 2019, kwara north was the only region that is yet to govern the state since 1999. Central as rule for 20years, south 8years now it's the turn of the north.

Yorubas are Dominant where? If AbdulRahman AbdulRazak the current Governor, as well as all the former Governors are Yorubas, then why are Yorubas crying of marginalization or praying for a Yoruba man to become Governor of Kwara State?

A Yoruba Oba Momoh has been Emir paternally from Iwo and that was before independence. The current Emir is from Gambari which is a mix of Hausa, Nupe and Bariba by paternal ancestry. Ilorin is only a Fulani emirate in the minds of ignorant people. In Ilorin anybody can be Emir and not only Fulani and they have been Emir. Then the non religious owner of the land that put the place under British protection is Balogun Ajikobi or don't you think who signed the protection agreement is the owner of the land? Ajikobi was traditionally in charge of the place in the 1890s.

There is no pure anything. Nobody in Ilorin is pure anything. You belong to your father's compound.
