NEW: ESUT delegation's Doha visit takes diplomatic turn as Qatari Royal pledges support for planned AI initiative

...Tours Carnegie Mellon University Qatar, a global leader in ICT education

The ongoing academic and strategic visit of the management of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) to Qatar took a diplomatic turn on Tuesday as the delegation paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Sheikh Mansoor bin Khalifa Al Thani, a member of Qatar's ruling family and a leading figure in the country's innovation and technology development efforts.

The visit took place ahead of the delegation's scheduled engagements at Qatar University and Meeza Data Centre, both of which form part of ESUT's broader efforts to explore international partnerships and opportunities for artificial intelligence (AI) and technological advancement on its campus.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mansoor expressed Qatar's willingness to support ESUT's planned artificial intelligence implementation initiative, underscoring the State of Qatar's commitment to fostering innovation, research, and knowledge-driven collaboration.

The engagement is expected to strengthen ties between Qatar and the state-owned university while opening new avenues for cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, research, capacity building, and technological development.

Earlier in the day, as part of its ongoing inspection of premier experiential learning facilities in Doha, the ESUT delegation visited Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, a globally renowned institution in ICT education, where they were received by the university's Vice Chancellor and senior officials.

The delegation toured key academic and innovation facilities, including the university's digital library, classrooms, research application centres, study facilities, and auditoriums. The visit comes at a time when practical, hands-on learning experiences are increasingly recognised as essential drivers of educational innovation and excellence.

A major highlight of the inspection was a tour of the Qatar Library on the campus, where the essence of university education was vividly reflected through its vast collection of books, AI study tools and gadgets, historical reference materials, and other vital academic resources for research and practical application.

Discussions between the Carnegie Mellon University management and the ESUT delegation focused on points of convergence and divergence in university education models, with particular emphasis on potential areas of collaboration that could enhance learning outcomes and support the advancement of education and innovation in Enugu State.

The visit forms part of ESUT's broader efforts to benchmark global best practices and identify transformative models that can enrich teaching, learning, and research at its proposed Centre for Artificial Intelligence Studies, Research and Innovation.

The delegation's ongoing engagements in Qatar reflect ESUT's determination to position itself as a leading institution in emerging technologies and innovation-driven education, while fostering strategic international partnerships capable of accelerating its transformation agenda.

Is it only about touring other reputable institutions across the world?

If truly they want to replicate what they see outside in terms of learning and academics, they should first start with the infrastructure on ground or are they not enamored by the beautiful structures and princint of the universities they visited.

ESUT is so poor in infrastructure that even the environment is perversed with weed, no proper landscaping for the so called Premier state university.

Would Qatar have flourished with 47 years of sanction? shocked shocked

Iran still has a nuclear programme of their own. In the 1950s, Iran had a vibrant democracy that even Spain or Greece didn't have.

What happened to that democracy? The West disrupted it because Mossadegh, the democratic prime minister decided to take control of Iranian oil to benefit Iranians.

The anger from that 1950s act of the West fuelled the 1979 Revolution. When you kill democracy for selfish reasons, you create a monster. The West did.

We need to know a bit of history.

How did the Mullahs get the support of the masses to go Islamic?

Because they leveraged on the resentment against the West over toppling of their democracy. And propping up the dictatorial and corrupt Shah who served Western interest.

You are typically addressing the symptom and not the disease. Read history bro.

Just as Palestine is getting the support of Hezbollah,Hamas and also Afghanistan got the support of talibans, then as Boko Haram and iswaps are getting the support of the North.
Imagine how much Nigeria have spent on the senseless crisis because the Muslims wants the establishment of Sharia, later on blame the West as the sponsor of the terror.

All this small children analyzes grin Let start from their size first.

Qatar has a total land area of approximately 11,571 to 11,586 square kilometers (4,468 to 4,473 square miles).

Iran spans a total area of approximately 1,648,195 square kilometers (636,372 square miles), making it the 17th largest country in the world.

Now, tell us exactly what Qatar are producing or doing on their own without the US, UK and Israel.

Iran is a million years ahead of Qatar.

No level of conflict will endangered them more than when they're in Nigeria.
Nigeria is not at war but people have died this year more than the people that died in Israel, Iran war.
So no panic, they're in Qatar not in Nigeria, or any other West African countries 🤔
