A politician can join any party just because of vacancy not that they care about the party. They can leave any party that doesn't have vacancy for them. It is the citizens that bother about party. Obi may join APC if they offer him ticket for president and nothing will happen.

Like I said before, Gawuna leaving APC only to be given the senate ticket in NDC was an extremely poor decision. Apart from the fact that he can't defeat Shekarau who is the APC candidate for Kano central, he has also lost his appointment as chairman of a federal agency. If he had stayed back in APC, the party would have offered him the senate ticket on a silver platter and by 2031, he would be the automatic choice for governorship. Now, he has lost everything as a result of impatience and poor decision making.
