Time For National Reconciliation, Re-orientation & Reconstruction By Dele Momodu by bestofnollywood(op): 8:35am On Jun 08
The 2027 Presidential election is expected to be a major fight between PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU and his biggest challenger, ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR. It promises to be the battle of the Tians. A third force, hopefully, may show up, like it did in 2023, but not with enough fire power and tenacity to upstage, and obliterate, the two elder statesmen.

This is why it has become pertinent, and urgent, for our dear party ADC to change the traditional way of playing politics by becoming a link between the old and modern, conservative and cosmopolitan tendencies, veteran politicians and technocrats in government. There’s no better combination than this duo, assuring of a colorful blend. The North and the South will reunite in a game of ethnic & religious rivalries.

The present combustive tensions, and absolute chaos, cannot be allowed to continue. It will consume all of us.

The time has come to retrace our steps and return to the days of robust ideas, ideologies and inspirational figures. Our founding fathers such as Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, The Sardauna Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and others, tried their best, even if they were not perfect.

Today, we’ve completely derailed from the legacies they bequeathed to us. The politics of gansterism has become unbearably malignant in our nation. This is the type of strong bridge we need between the North and the South.

We must act before it is too late…

No need to package Nigeria again, it is no longer a country. We need to take back our forests first and resolve to regional nations. That is the only feasible solution
Re: Time For National Reconciliation, Re-orientation & Reconstruction By Dele Momodu by emkz: 10:04am On Jun 08
Dele Momodu said he wants to run with Atiku. He sees himself as the bridge between the old and the young. Dele Momodu is 66 years and is by no means a young man. He is also not a technocrat.

What caused the fight in PDP and ADC is that Atiku does not care about the unity and cohesion of the country. Is there any presidential contest since 2007 that Atiku did not indicate interest? Has Atiku ever supported anyone but himself since 2007?

Was it fair that a northern Fulani would succeed a northern Fulani in 2023? Would that not lead to Fulani hegemony in a country with more than 250 ethnic groups? Even the northwest zone with majority Fulanis in Nigeria rejected Atiku as they do not believe in any hegemony.

Which young person has Atiku groomed in the north or south?
emkz:
Dele Momodu is not a popular politician in the south and cannot secure the south-west and south-south for Atiku. He also doesnt have the warchest to support Atiku's run.

A running mate from south-east will not help Atiku either as Obi will win it. So Emeka Nwajiuba or Emeka Ihedioha are not going to help.

Atiku should consider Aregbesola (south-west) or Udom Emmanuel (south-south). Get Udom Emmanuel to decamp. Rotimi Amaechi is a political liability with a huge warchest. Make him DG of the campaign.

Why did your own senators and representatives not agree with you on this feasible solution since 1999?

There have been 5 amendments to the constitution in the last 27 years, why did your own senators and representatives fail to include provisions for your only feasible solution in the amendments huh

We are watching how it will pan out. Maybe the bigger thief will win or the smaller thief. My wish is a revolution to clear out all the old thieves but we are not ready in this country for revolution yet. Tribalism, religion and many other nonsense factors are still determining votes here and no revolution can happen without unity. So we still have a long way to go.

Since you know that we are not ready for your revolution and you won't lead it to shorten the long way to go, what then should be your pragmatic option of the two bad choices?

It's obvious that one of them will be your president next year, except Tinubu succeeds with Amupitan's INEC and Wike's courts to keep Atiku off the ballot.

Wike Boasts Of Helping APC Use Judiciary To Kill Osun LG Funds Case, Warns Party Leaders Against Ingratitude

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has openly boasted that he assisted certain elements within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in deploying the judiciary to frustrate the Osun State local government allocation lawsuit.

In a video now circulating widely on social media and obtained by SaharaReporters, Wike made the claim while addressing a crowd in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The former Rivers governor accused the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, of benefitting from judicial actions against the Osun State Government without knowing those who did the work behind the scenes.

The suit in question led to the withholding of local government funds in Osun State, a development widely seen as targeting the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke as opposition in the state.

Wike, who spoke angrily, suggested that the court action supporting the APC’s position against the Osun government did not happen by chance, boasting that powerful political forces worked quietly to ensure the outcome.

“Don’t take our support for Mr President for granted,” Wike warned, in an apparent message to APC leaders defending Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. “You have to be careful about the statements you make. You have to be very careful.”

He accused Basiru of political ingratitude, claiming the APC was enjoying in Osun State without understanding who engineered their advantage.

“Today, you are enjoying in Osun. You don’t know those who did the work,” Wike said. “You are opening your mouth to talk about Rivers State.”

Nobody can do worst than Tinubu. If even Buhari a known failure in his past administration could do 20 times better than Tinubu, how then will Obi not do better. In fact, Baba Suwe would have done better than Tinubu. Tinubu is the all time low.

You claim to know too much. constitution ammendments can't solve problems, it is still a packaging method that will not help stop the momentum of Fulani invaders. who wrote the constitution you are even talking about? what we need is outright entire rejection and cancellation of the hidden agenda in the constitution fashioned to enthrone islamic supreme government as in Iran. Did you see Buhari on state visit ot ayatollah khomeini or not? Did you ever heard governor of Bauchi saying herdsmen have right to carry ak47 to protect there cow or not? Did you hear the outcome of the Fulani summit in Kano that Allah has given length and breadth of Nigeria to them, therefore, all Fulani in any part of the world should relocate to Nigeria fully armed to take over? What I don't understand about Nigerian politics is the continuous glorification of Azikiwe, awolowo, and ahmadu bello.

Azikiwe and awolowo were selfish greedy treacherous kvnts, and ahmadu bello was a jihadist.

Why the hell do they continue glorifying these three?

See who is calling for reconciliation, the very same one that fans the tribal and religious disconnect. Bunch of dishonorable honorables.

Why are you pretending to be ignorant of how your own senators and representatives killed the RUGA, grazing reserves and inland waterways bill?

In any case, who are you expecting to lead your proposed rejection? The Jagaban of Borgu, who is only interested in his 3rd term for life president dictator ambition and aligns with the northerners when it serves his parochial interests huh

How we foiled Jonathan’s effort to make Mulika Adeola Speaker, Akande reveals

AS president in 2011, Goodluck Jonathan did all he could to ensure South West grabbed the country’s number four seat, including lobbying then opposition leaders from the zone, to no avail. The North West eventually grabbed the seat, supported by South West leaders in opposition to then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Former Governor of Osun State and now statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, made this revelation in his autobiography, “My Participations” which is currently dominating political and national dis- course.

Aminu Tambuwal, now Sokoto State governor, won the seat, against the preferred pick of his party, Mrs Mulikat Adeola Akande, from the South-West. Defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, then a fledging opposition, which had Akande and his soulmate, former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, as front- line leaders, openly asked its elected members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the South-West, to work against their region and back Tambuwal from North-West.

The opposition party’s support carried Tambuwal through the contest against Akande, then ruling party’s favourite for the speakership seat.

In his book, Chief Akande revealed that former president then as incumbent, personally reached out to Tinubu, who is now believed to be nursing presidential aspiration in 2023 and himself, but couldn’t convince them.

He wrote, “President Jonathan, immediately after the meeting (with political parties), called Bola Tinubu aside into a lobby to broach the matter of ACN support for a choice of who would become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“That same day, President Jonathan talked to me on phone about the same matter. He disclosed that PDP had zoned the position to the South-West but that only one Muraina and another Mulika won elections on PDP ticket from the zone into the House of Representatives.
