The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly replaced several candidates earlier submitted by the Kwankwasiyya faction in Kano State following a dispute over an alleged breach of a 60/40 power-sharing arrangement within the party.

According to a document signed by the Kano State NDC Chairman, Hon. Hussaini Isah Mairiga, the decision was taken to reflect an existing agreement on the distribution of elective positions between the party’s original structure and the Kwankwasiyya bloc.

The document was copied to the party’s National Leader, Seriake Dickson, Kwankwasiyya leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the NDC North-West Zonal Chairman.

Under the revised list for federal constituencies, the party approved Barrister Isma’il Idris Sani for Kumbotso, Nasiru Ali Ahmed for Nassarawa, Kabiru Ishaq Sa’id for Kano Municipal, Barrister Dayyabu Jamilu Ibrahim for Doguwa/Tudun Wada, Muhammad Hamisu Abubakar for Dawakin Tofa/Rimin Gado/Tofa, Ibrahim Bashir Bango for Sumaila/Takai, and Abdulmajid Isa Umar Mairigar Fata for Gwale.

Adjustments were also made to State House of Assembly tickets in Dala, Tarauni, Kumbotso, Ungogo and Dawakin Kudu constituencies.

Party insiders said the changes were necessitated by the enforcement of a 60/40 sharing formula, under which the Kwankwasiyya bloc was allocated 60 per cent of elective positions while the original party structure retains 40 per cent.

However, the development has triggered tension within the party, with reports indicating that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is considering leaving the NDC if the affected candidates are not reinstated.

Let me tell you people a very bitter truth, even though I'm from the East and I will be very happy to see Peter Obi in Aso Rock after 2027 election but as it stands now Obi has no chance to win the incoming Presidential elections,
Some of you obidents will be mad while reading this comment, but the truth is that if Obi really has a confidence in himself and his supporters, he wouldn't have leave the ADC party no matter who he will face in party nomination, he should have stayed there and proved to Nigerians and the world that he has what it take to rule this country, chicken out only prove that he doesn't have confidence in his supporters !

1. Obi no get power or structure or say in NDC.

2. Dickson holds all the cards.

3. Dickson holds the Presidential destiny of Obi.

4. Obi is at the mercy of Kwankwaso.

As a presidential candidate of his profile, it should be the other way round.

If Tinubu possesses such omnipotent power, why is the country in tatters under his administration? Why have hardship and deaths reached unprecedented levels during his tenure?

Are his powers more effective at state capture and emasculating the opposition than at serving Nigerians and advancing the common good?
