China has grown at around 5% annually over the past five years—how many $20 trillion economies can achieve that? This year, China’s economy is expected to grow at roughly twice the rate of the US and contribute about 26% of global GDP growth, which is nearly three times the US contribution of around 9%. They also recorded the highest trade surplus in history last year, and it is projected to continue expanding this year. Yes, China do have an ageing population but that will be addressed with the overturn of the One child Policy.

And yes, the United States do attract the young and the brainy from every corner of the world and that I think is still why they are very at the top but things do change and it will change.
