We played well but they scored... We jst need two good players to replace iwobi and Simon and we would have won... Nice football tonight from the players.. It's a shame we are not going to the world Cup

Chukwueze has really refused to grow up as a player, very unserious and selfish of him.
Our ball control na problem and we keep losing passing like children…

You are playing Portugal without Osimhen and Ademola and you wanna win, it can't be possible!

You need a replacement for that keeper..
A goalkeeper that was dumped long ago. He used money and lobbying to get his way back.
He shouldn’t be invited again.

Let him continue his career at club level

Another thing you have to tell your Coach is to tell his players to be very bold when playing big teams, they always lose concentration when playing big team like Portugal but will be showing ultimate warrior when playing with small team!

Disappointing second half, does. Coach not know Iwobi is spent for Nigeria, can he not scout for competent midfielders, see midfied empty, they dominated us this second half, what we were doing first half.

Nigeria needs to learn how to play under pressure, do u see way senegal played with Morocco under pressure, dem no give dem chance dem still score.

Once we under pressure, we start playing nonsense.

Coach still gat a long way to go really

Our goalkeeper is a basket. His reflex is too slow. Both goals, same slow reflex. My mother will do better than that
He lobbied his way back to Super Eagles. He should have never been recalled. He can continue his career at club level.

Soon Iheanacho may surface.

Every official wants too take photo with Ronaldo.

Good to be famous.

Same thing will happen if Tinubu is accessible

People are faulting keeper like we have a good defense

If not for CRonaldo's age.,,,,they should have scored more

Very irresponsible of him, same ball was converted for the first goal. Very selfish that’s why Fulham rejected him. That’s very lackadaisical. If the coach doesn’t see a big fault in that he is down for failure, he has no future with the team. Some players have to go for new talent to come in.

The final score is 2:1
I have said it before the commencement of this match that it will be 2:1. Nigeria with this current team can't beat Portugal, not in this world with this current team!

The boys tend to switch off some times but then the outcome of a loss was never in doubt.

There are many competent Midfielders among over 200million Nigerians , however, they don’t all have money for lobbying or connections.Unfortunately , NFF and coach start going after Nigerian midfielders once they make it to big clubs.

Look at the misfits we were planning to go and disgrace us at the world cup
Remember, we are in 26th position playing number five. Do you remember? Can you imagine that? And you say we don't try? It's just bringing your children out from their school to join Chrisland schools and you still expect them to come out first position, as in haw naw?

I never thought the day will come that the Eagles would become cannon fodder
No REAL coach gets outcoached by Martinez friendly or not
Chelle is a man who can't believe he is coaching the Eagles
I don't even want to start on the NFF/NSC because quota system and corruption na their "regular trademark" grin
Smh

Nigeria players really really did well. I like the way they fought to recover the ball.
Calvin Bassey is a monster at the back.

Honestly Ronaldo is a short one for this Portuguese team.
Roberto Martinez should just bench the old man. .

The last time we played Portugal. We were thoroughly thrashed. Big ups to the team. So much room for improvement.

So what happened to the 2nd and 3rd -choice goalkeepers?

There’s one from local league who danced with Kanu Nwankwo during AFCON match. Don’t even know his name.

Those are goalkeepers that should be given opportunities during friendly matches like this

Don’t defend him, unless you are among those he lobbied here in Nairaland to promote him

Lobbied? Okoye can't do that, he turned down the chance of making it to the last AFCON, saying he knew he can't be the first choice in that tournament, why didn't he lobby at least to be part of the team?

Like I said before, Nwabali is unavailable and Okoye gets invited coming from an impressive performance with Udinese last season, Eric Chelle chooses who to keep, we can't decide for the coach whether to use 2nd or 3rd choice goalkeepers

If our boys win our next 2 matches against Croatia and Afghanistan we will surely qualify for the knockout stage. We really missed Osimhen and Lukman

Yes bro. They played their heart today. The whole stadium was so quiet indeed. The Portuguese wanted to use us to catch cruise on their way to the world cup . We nearly disgraced them at their back yard. What a quality match to behold. I will watch it again during my leisure time.
