It's a good development but see, this government has really failed the citizens in every aspect of life. This government has made life hardest for us economy wise. This government has made insecurity closer to our doorsteps like never before.. I'm this government more small scale businesses have been shut It's in this government that more Nigerians became jobless Just to mention but a few I would suggest to Tinubu to take a bow and leave... After all his dreams of being a president has been fulfilled. |

Image123:Mortgage banking has been around for decades in Nigeria . FMBN has been around for decades and banks like UBA had mortgage banking as far back as 1989. It's just that most Nigerians even now don't like the idea. |

It 2ill be sold to Nigerians n that alone is enough. Wretched people do not buy homes in 3rd world countries, only those rich enough do. Sirseedorf: |

I don't know when our government will stop building these housing that can only contain 2 to 3 families and started adopting the Chinese model. All over Asian because of their rising population and house crisis they are building high rise buildings. One single high rise shelters about 10,000 people. Nigeria needs something like that not these small buildings. Presently housing shortage is a serious crisis but the government is not paying attention. Our population is growing faster than available houses that's why rent is surging so much Encourage highrise apartments, one that can atleast contain 500 to 1,000 people . More high-rise means more houses. Homelessness is now rampart everywhere. People are sleeping on the streets now especially in Lagos |

nairalanda1:It's not a case of Nigerians not liking the idea of mortgaging, the reality is that the nigerian volatile financial environment does not favour any financial house lending out money for mortgage purposes. |

nairalanda1:Many of them went to school but are still not educated. They are typing rubbish just because of hatred for the government. Any youth with a good job should go to FMBN and get a form. The mortgage system is practiced all over the world. |
| Re: Pictures Of Renewed Hope City Project In Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos by nairalanda1(m): 8:54am On Jun 11 |
OkanlawonB:But people do have mortgages, plus the same kind of volatility exists even in the US. |

helinues:It is part of Nigeria where people are drinking water from shitty boreholes, following the example of Tinubu's master plan strategy of stealing money that should employ workers to make pipe borne water available to homes. The federal government is not responsible for water supply in cities and towns. This is the responsibility of states. InvertedHammer:@@@@@ @@@@@@@@ fergie001: |

Image123:It has been in existence for years. In fact, since like the 70s and it has gone through various transformations. So bat is not doing anything new. The question is, can government workers afford it? Some go for as high as N20m for a one bed in some locations. The government should ensure affordability and transparency in allocation. |

Flesh10:It's not all Asian nations, its places like china, singapore and hong kong. China's own is financed by mortgages...it's not like the Chinese government is doing mass building projects. I believe Singapore and Hong Kong have public housing for low income, but it is not that easy to get, and most people rent or pay mortgages. Many low income people in Hong Kong live in subdivided apartments ie a three bedroom house that has been partitioned into six. Plus 1) where are you going to build the highrise buildings Most likely on the outskirts...which means a lot of investment in things like light railways...which cost a lot of money ...states like Rivers and Kano gave up on doing it, and Lagos struggled to build 2 out of seven lines after 20 years! 2) how would you pay for things like facilites to evacuate sewage and bring in water supply...most of your cities except probably Abuja do not have a central sewage system. 3) you people do not want to pay cost reflective tarrifs for electricity, so how would you pay for the expansion of power supply? 4) Know that you cannot use firewood to cook in those buildings, so it has to be gas or electricity...which increases household costs 5) maintenance...how would you maintain the building 6) our budget is scanty. Una get money to pay for all them buildings? |
