Nwabali bawo ni. Nwabali ke. Honestly, this match passed Nwabali hands. What a massive safe from goalkeeper Okoye.

You are playing Portugal without Osimhen and Ademola and you wanna win, it can't be possible!

You need a replacement for that keeper..
Not too bad

Nigeria's defenders are an embarrassment, imagine taking these sort of Clowns to the World Cup.
Ola Aina is just tall-for-nothing! Lazy and sluggish. Imagine if Ronaldo had connected properly with the Ball that passed right in front of Aina and He could even make the effort to stick his leg out, and he calls himself a defender?

"Animal farm" is tired and dodging the ball, he does not want a short to hit him!
The Two goals Portugal scored were not fantastic but these bunch of Sluggish Snails playing for Nigeria allowed such cheap goals.

Kudos to that young attack who scored our only goal.
He is hungry to establish himself, Six Goals in six International Call-up!
That is the type of Players we need, not al these second rate players like Bassey, Aina, etc

And our Keeper Okoye tried, he gave a good account of himself, in front of lazy and unintelligent defenders

If it's you, wouldn't you even beg for autograph? That's a once in a lifetime encounter. Might not have such occurrence again in this life or next......however, I like the way Portugal won, it's not because Nigeria was not good but experience matters a lot which ofcourse went the way of the Portuguese. Nigeria humbled them but it's great they go into the world cup with a clean sense that they met one of the best team in Africa that ought to be at the world and square it out with them man to man.......no walk over....but man to man......... remember, most of our top players weren't even present. I wish Portugal a great world cup.......

I suspect something though contrary to your opinion. Nigeria team deliberately esteemed the Portuguese so that they can have a positive disposition towards the world cup. It's still a great match and remember that most of our top players weren't even present. However, it's a friendly match and Nigeria needs not to be too hard on the Portuguese so as not to cause any injury that could disturb their line up against opponents in the world cup.

I think they always have a post match discussion whereby most things like match expectations and engagement are discussed. And most important point of discussion are probably on prevention of injury, not so much hard tackle, even though both playing their best games but shouldn't forget it's a friendly match........it wouldn't be nice sustaining injury on mere ordinary friendly match to miss the real match......

Last time we lost 4-0 to Portugal but Morocco defeated Portugal shortly after at the world cup. Sincerely I don't see anything spectacular about this Portuguese team, Morocco or Ivory coast can beat them. Nigeria doesn't have any star player plying his trade in a top 3 club in a top 5 league (asides lookman), when they face big names fron big teams they jitter. Inferiority complex sets in , everyone wants to be on the score sheet for bragging rights that they scored against Ronaldo led team. We had some opportunities to score but selfishness from Adams and chukwueze didn't allow them to pass to open teammates in scoring position. If this Nigerian team had gone to world cup they wouldn't string much surprises. Look at recent friendly matches , ivory coast defeated France, cape Verde defeated Serbia 3-0, Algeria defeated Netherlands 0-1; Africa will perform. Nigeria has lost iit in men's football. The team that played unity cup is better than our first team that couldn't beat Zimbabwe in w/cup qualifiers. Simon, iwobi, chukwueze aren't world class currently

Very irresponsible of him, same ball was converted for the first goal. Very selfish that’s why Fulham rejected him. That’s very lackadaisical. If the coach doesn’t see a big fault in that he is down for failure, he has no future with the team. Some players have to go for new talent to come in.
Very correct ✅, I was so angry because the match would have ended 2 - 2

Nwabali wouldn’t have been able to catch most of the goals. Okoye tried but it seems he has issues with sudden long distance shots. He should be medically examined for this. All in all and at the moment, Okoye is our best hands. He performed exceptionally well

Dude, Ola Aina wasn't even in the game. And what exactly do you mean by "a good account" from Okoye? A goalkeeper who conceded four goals in just two matches hardly deserves such praise. Okoye simply isn't good enough, man.
Do you even know who Ola Aina is? He's an excellent player—a world-class, modern, and highly mobile defender. I honestly don't understand how you can criticize Bassey while praising Okoye.

The coach should stop inviting Okoye and, by extension, Chukwueze to the Super Eagles camp. In my opinion, neither of them has done enough to justify a place in the team

Look at the misfits we were planning to go and disgrace us at the world cup
Nigeria has really improved under Eric Chelle. If you are not biased, you would’ve noticed that. The team played well and performed well in the past AFCON. It was unfortunate they couldn’t win the match against DRC which was decided via penalty kicks. Same misfortune against host country Morocco during the AFCON.
I believe that they would’ve done well in the World Cup if we had qualified.
The players are not misfits. They are good players, highly improved team, great manager as well.
We have been just unlucky.
Morocco and Portugal are world class teams. We played both countries in their home turfs and did well.

No, please his reflexes are his strong points and has kept us in this game so far ... I'm surprised you're faulting okoye's reflexes bro!
those two goals will not beat top keepers, because his reflex is not consistent. It's better this way.
O let me add, his positioning was poor. Or his positioning is not consistent

Senegal beat England with their best players and first team. Ivory Coast did same against France. Cameroun beat Brazil with the first 11 and best team at the time just same way Nigeria beat Spain in 98 with our best team against Spanish elite squad.

We can make valid excuse that Nigeria did well against a top team like Portugal with some of the best players in the world….Vitinha and Mendes just won the champions league, old war horse Ronaldo performed poorly against young untested and unknown Nigerian players.
Portugal is a top team and we played them away with relatively unknown players.

If you are not happy with that, go and replace them or show them how to do it.

I’m not a great fan of Okoye but his positioning denied C Ronaldo a 1 on 1 situation that would’ve given Portugal their first goal. His sharp reflexes prevented at least 3 situations that would’ve resulted in goals.

He should have done better for the first goal, he can saved it even the second goal, he can also save it but saved many long distance shots Portuguese players played at him as a way of correcting the mistake he made during Poland long distance shot that gave them equalizer!

Regretting for what reason? That the world cup will not hold because Nigeria is not there?

You make a great point which is often overlooked. The essence of these kind of friendlies is mainly to give the players a good run out preparatory to the main tournament.
