DataAnalyst2022:
Always use the same information such as address, phone number, bank account etc in joining new fund managers. So, I think by doing that, you will have only one CHN across board..

You can register to other funds managers such as cowrywise, Cardinalstone, Zedcrest, paramount, arm etc.

Read reasons it's better to avoid multiple CHNs
In the Nigerian financial market, a CHN stands for Clearing House Number. It is a unique biometric identifier assigned to you by the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS)—essentially serving as your financial "fingerprint" or national identity card for your capital market investments.
Ideally, an investor should have exactly one CHN. Having different (multiple) CHNs across various fund managers or stockbroking firms is problematic for several key reasons:

1. Fragmentation of Your Wealth
When you have multiple CHNs, the CSCS system views you as entirely different people. This means your investment portfolio is split into isolated silos. Instead of logging into a portal or using a service like the CSCS USSD code (*7270#) to see your total net worth at a glance, you will only see bits and pieces scattered across different accounts.

2. Identity Theft and KYC Risks
A major reason regulators (like the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC) fight against multiple CHNs is security.
Having different CHNs often points to inconsistencies in your KYC (Know Your Customer) data—such as slight variations in the spelling of your name, different dates of birth, or mismatched Bank Verification Numbers (BVN).
This messy data makes you highly vulnerable to identity theft or unauthorized asset sales, because it is much harder for the system to flag fraudulent activity when your identity isn't consolidated.

3. Missing Out on Corporate Benefits (Dividends & Rights Issues)
If a company you invested in declares a dividend, bonus issue, or a rights issue, the registrars rely heavily on your unique CHN to match your holdings and credit your bank account. If you have mismatched or multiple CHNs, the system can get confused, leading to:
Unclaimed or delayed dividends.
Failed verification when trying to buy into public offers or rights issues on unified electronic platforms like NGX Invest.

4. Administrative Nightmares During Consolidation
Eventually, you—or your heirs, during estate management—will have to fix this. Reconciling and consolidating multiple CHNs requires a long administrative process. You have to write official letters to the CSCS through a stockbroker, go through biometric recapture exercises, map all the numbers to a single BVN, and pay processing fees to merge the accounts.
The Rule of Thumb: You can have accounts with as many different fund managers or stockbroking firms as you want, but you must give them the exact same CHN that you received when you opened your very first capital market account.
Thanks

I'm starting a Telegram group.
A follow up: It will be a "paid" private group as I really don't want to deal with plenty people I can't keep up with.

The group will be majorly for swing traders and NOT suitable for a long term investors looking to hold for 5 years. However, If your goal is to hold some stocks long term and trade some short term, then the group is for you.

What you will benefit:

1-Regular stock recommendation as at when institutional/smart money is entering the stock. (Both Nigeria and U.S stocks)

2- Free portfolio review anytime.

3 - Help you analyze stocks of your choice; which includes;

Real time information about the mood & sentiments about any stock/ETF. (NGX & US)

4- I will keep you updated on "value of fund traded" on any stock so you don't enter low volume stocks and be the volume of the market and end up getting your money trapped because you can't sell and exit the market.

5- I will help you track the performance of any given stock/ETF (NGX & US) and let you know when it's the right time to sell after making gains.

6 - If you decide on buying a stock right from the beginning of a new rally when no one is noticing the stock and you need such "stock recommendation" to lock-in your money for long duration, I will gladly help you research it.

7- If you need U.S bank, Tech, A.I, Semi-conductor, communication, consumer discretionary, Industrial, Consumer stables, Real Estate stocks or tradable ETF. I can help you research one.

8 - I will keep you updated on trend of the general mood of the market using "ASI and Macros" as my guide. You can utilize this information to know when to buy "Equity mutual fund", when to take profit and let what you can risk run the course of market volitility. And also when to begin to top up because ASI is looking bright again.

9 - Don't even bother reading this list twice if your have short time frame for patience. Because 1% in investing, 99% of the other work is having patience.

I will NOT be responsible for your lack of patience.

What's the cost of entry?

No cost of entry, it's free for the first one month. If you satisfied with service after one month then they will be a quarterly fee (valid payment for 3 months) to continue to stay in the group.

Hello my brothers and sisters.

I have been doing stanbic imaan fund and GT Equity since october 2025.
For like 6 weeks now, my profit has reduced drastically. (my capital is still intact. My profit is still much)
Its been Yakubu since for some weeks now.

A Bird told me to withdraw all my money from stanbic ibtc imaan fund and GT Equity, that the coming election and that govt is putting hand on the stock market to hold it.
That there will be a decline for several months.

However i intend selling some in september to buy Dangote's IPO once it comes out. Then keep the rest for long term compounding

Whats your take on this?

Should i move my funds out?
Will the market record losses from June to December because of the election?
Is it true shares will keep going down?
Is the coming election going to affect equity fund and shares?

I need your answers

thanks

My Mum has been putting pressure on me to sell all my equity funds

My 1% is that you are the owner of your portfolio. The profit and loss is yours to bear. Make your research and take the next step you can fully own with your chest.

My guess is the market will still rally and do way better later this year than earlier. The market needs more retail cash to promote this current govt for January at the very least

Many investors in Nigeria didn't even know it exists. Not even every investor know what Dangote IPO means and when it's scheduled to be listed. Only the once that follows the news know.

Now do you want to tell me that institutional investors in Nigeria will dare to weaken ASI just to go buy into the gamble of Elon Musk?

Nahhhh
