Imagine stalking two or three accounts and labeling their engagements as representing the totality of the opinion of another group. Who are these Orchins - Obidient - in the voice of Kenneth Okonkwo? Did Peter Obi not say he would seek only one term if elected president? So what is the matter with whoever has planned to take over from him from 2031?

I am happy the personality of Peter Obi is shining through all. Obi is no bridge builder and can not galvanise zilch. He is a necessary candidate though. I see so much youthful exuberance about some who genuinely believes he has something to offer. anger clouds good reasoning many times. Some 15-20 years ago, i may have joined obidients too.. As of today, the best candidate of the top 5 candidates for 2027 is Tinubu, and he has the most reliable path to fixing most of the tough issues in Nigeria. A lot of youthful Nigerians idealise what leadership should be in a country filled with crooks in every nooks and cranny. The irony is that most of these same Nigerians with all these idealistic saint leaders are no saints....

I can write hundreds of books on Nigerians, we are a peculiar people in some way.


Imagine God blessing you with that much mob like followership and you can't even set up a political party.... I am almost tempted to believe he is working for Tinubu, even though i know that is not a possibility. Peter Obi will be an Utmost disaster as a President, and i am gifted enough to see through certain people. I predicted his 6 million votes in 2023 election even while not supporting him.

How can you join a party with your supporters and not protect their interests once you have sorted yours? That's not how politics is done anywhere in the world.

Obi is simply not a builder. He's selfish and ready to sacrifice everything but his ambition.

NDC should have included membership duration, say 6-12months, as part of the requirements to contest any seat except with waiver. This will technically give them the control over these new entrants. Simply give waivers to new entrants based on reasonable agreement. You can't meet people somewhere and bully them.

New entrants who weren't successful at the primaries are the ones causing problems and will continue cause issues for the party. This will be a critical crackpoint that the ruling party can explore. Now, they're pushing the party's leadership to be publicly firm, saying things that can polarize the party. HSD really has nothing to lose should NDC not field any presidential candidate for 2027.

At this juncture, he may be tempted to expel Obi to render him internally displaced and absent on the ballot.

Had Obi factored his supporters into the workings, he would have requested certain number of tickets for them which will make it easier to pacify those it won't reach. Kwankwansiyya members aren't everywhere dragging NDC leadership like this. I'm not sure any obidient emerged as NDC candidate for any post. He threw them all under the bus.

I don't agree with this. Obi was a huge signing. It's not some fine detail negotiations that could cause delay. Just some gentlemen agreements for inclusion.

These Obidients you're accusing of wanting to ride on Obi's influence are not vying for national executive posts. 5-10 tickets across executive and legislative posts for Obi to distribute wouldn't hurt. Infact, it might be the glue that will hold everyone together. Absence of such is what is creating this emerging problems.

HSD and other involved stakeholders are seasoned politicians who understand compromises and accommodating interests. It's normal for people to want to benefit from where they put their efforts or even take opportunities.

Do you mean all Northern NDC candidates are old members? Kwankwaso people definitely got some tickets. Tell me one Obidient who got ticket for even state assembly ticket.

The fact that HSD owns the party doesn't mean all tickets must go to his people. Old members need the new entrants as much as new entrants need the old members. They are both less valuable alone. Synergy is needed.

This idea of not wanting to fault someone because you like them isn't objective but rather fanaticism. Obi left his people in the cold after getting his own ticket. Period!
