| I Cease To Be Known As An Obidient by OredoPikin(op): 8:54am On Jun 12 |
When we started this movement, I believed the goal was clear: to make Peter Obi president and birth a new Nigeria we could all be proud of. But from the events so far with the NDC, it has become obvious that many people are more interested in what they can get from the movement than in the movement itself. The NDC was already an existing party before the Obidient Movement joined forces with them. They had their structure and plans in place. They accepted us, gave us the top two positions, and allocated other positions as well. When the party later said let us share the remaining positions, some members became angry. Because they did not get what they wanted, they started insulting the party, its leaders, and even Peter Obi. To make Obi president, we must be willing to compromise. You cannot walk into an established party and immediately try to hijack its structure. Some of those who felt sidelined even tried to set Obi and Kwankwaso against each other. Ambition is good, but the ambition of the movement must come before personal ambition. If you believe you have what it takes to win an election, there are other parties you can contest under. You cannot ride on the momentum of the movement, and when things do not go your way, start insulting everyone and questioning the main goal because Obi refused to hand over the ticket. For these reasons, as an active member of Obidient movement that have defended it both online and offline and right here on this nairaland forum from day one. from today I, OredoPikin cease to be called an Obidient on this forum. Instead please call me a Peter Obi supporter and also a supporter of the decision of the vehicle (NDC) he is using. Thank you. |

OredoPikin:Ahmadu bello word will always be remembered forever They go into a camp and within a short period of time they want to relegate everyone they met and take over the camp. The same thing happened in LP n now they want to do the same in NDC, it's obvious it's not the party that is the problem but the wanderers |
| Re: I Cease To Be Known As An Obidient by OredoPikin(op): 9:13am On Jun 12 |
Counterigbolies:Ahmadu bello words was directed to the East Most of the people crying of not getting NDC tickets are not even from the East. Majority of the people that are even defending the party are from the East Obi himself have remained silent on this matter and allow the party handle things as a party. So why trying to tribalize my post? Why are u trying to use my simple post to show your hatred for a region that have never done you anything wrong? Or is Obidient movement now an Eastern movement? I will report your comment |

Peter Obi shot himself in the legs when he left ADC for NDC just because some people started trending OK movement. ADC you joined since last year and majority of the party stakeholders were tilting towards party primaries but he wanted it zoned to the South. Had he stayed back and contested the primaries he would have given others a run for their money. He may not win it but he would perform decently due to his Obidient base. Man isn’t good at calculations at all. Kwankwaso that said he couldn’t deputize you in 2023 suddenly accepted to deputize you now and you didn’t put calculations together to understand what could be Kwankwaso’s motive and projections. ADC is still the best option for him and he should have remained there. Nigerians were ready to vote that party regardless of what INEC does. It’s good to be very calculating and project into the future and also learn from what worked for others. Tinubu stooped to conquer by putting Buhari forward in 2015 and waited 8 years to use that “I helped you” to force Buhari hands in 2023. Obi should have just agreed to deputize Atiku and become the VP. The VP still handles economy according to the constitution and I’m positive Obi will do well in that sector and that will motivate people to want him to be president after Atiku. He just threw it all away and I’m pained. APC are seeing themselves winning this election now as it stands. |

Sheuns:How is this post about Obi? Cant u guys stick to topic? Over 6millions plus minus rigging were already motivated to make him president in 2023 Which other motivation is he looking for? Why were APC members not motivated to make Osinbajo their candidate in 2023? Please rest and stick to topic |
| Re: I Cease To Be Known As An Obidient by AMINDA: 10:17am On Jun 12 |
Sheuns:I knew how desperate Obi was when he agreed to do only one term. How can you negotiate such conditions for a region that has never produced the presidency and expect to be trusted? If Obi had remained in the ADC and aligned his region with the North, he would have gotten the opportunity to inherit Atiku’s Northern bloc, a huge segment of Buhari’s bloc, as well as his Southeastern bloc. That would have made him unstoppable. He fears he would lose his base in the Middlebelt but that base is already gone to Tinubu, regardless. Clearly, some Southeastern politicians like Abaribe and Ihedioha were thinking along that line but Obi threw them all under the bus. That's why none of them followed Obi on his wild goose chase to the NDC. The crop of Southeastern leaders that would not be supporting Obi come 2027 are only doing so because they want to stand the chance of becoming Vice in 2031 and use that as a launchpad for the presidency. |

OredoPikin:Well, you are just 20% into your rehabilitation to being normal again. I will only consider you healed and normal when you finally accept that Giringori that you have all seen as your cult hero whom you see as being infallible and can do no wrong, is actually the real scammer. When the head is rotten, the entire body will decay. That's the obidient story in a nutshell Your toxic violent movement with it's divisive characteristics are a display of your crowned god Emperor , Obi. |

OredoPikin:Signs of being part of a hero-worshipping or cult-like movement include idolizing the leader as an infallible prophet or saint, blind obedience to their words without critical thinking, and social isolation from outside influences who are depicted as corrupt or evil. |

OredoPikin:Ten Reasons I Will Not Vote Peter Obi in 2027 He inspires emotion, but he does not impose order. A president must control a coalition, not just excite a crowd. He changes platforms too easily. A man still searching for a stable political roof should not be asking for the keys to Aso Rock. He has enthusiasm, not enduring structure. Hashtags can trend, but only structure wins power and sustains it. His support base often repels the allies he needs. A movement known more for abuse than alternatives shrinks its own coalition. He speaks like a lecturer, not always like a coalition builder. Nigeria needs persuasion, not just presentations. He rode a wave in 2023 but could not preserve the gains. Winning seats is one thing; keeping them under one roof is another. He struggles to discipline loyalists. A man who cannot manage followers will struggle to manage a federation. He benefits from protest energy, but protest is not governance. Anger can launch a campaign; it cannot run a country. He is strongest in passion-heavy zones, weaker in broad national spread. Regional intensity is not the same as national viability. He criticizes loudly, but the alternative often sounds thin. A president must offer more than complaint. Conclusion: Peter Obi may inspire passion, but passion is not preparation. Nigeria needs structure, discipline, coalition depth, and executive steadiness. |

DomPerignon:For months, Obidients have acted as though every party Peter Obi enters should immediately become an extension of Obi’s personal camp. ADC felt the heat. Now NDC is feeling it too. Instead of patience, integration, and respect for the platform, what often arrives first is pressure, entitlement, and public combat. This is politically foolish. |
| Re: I Cease To Be Known As An Obidient by CharlesCNG: 1:38pm On Jun 12 |
DomPerignon:Obidients and the New Front Against NDC What is happening between Aisha Yesufu and NDC is more than an ordinary quarrel over a party ticket. It is another warning sign that parts of the Obidient movement do not know how to enter a coalition without trying to dominate it. Aisha Yesufu joined NDC after leaving ADC and positioned herself for the FCT Senate race. But once the ticket process did not go her way, the quarrel moved into the open. She publicly confronted party leaders, rejected claims that she stepped down, and accused the party of changing procedures and failing to honour prior commitments. That is where the larger political lesson begins. |
| Re: I Cease To Be Known As An Obidient by CharlesCNG: 1:40pm On Jun 12 |
OredoPikin:There is a proverb for this: the man who enters every market with a whip should not complain when traders stop smiling at him. And that may be the real tragedy of the Obidient style. A movement that should be gathering friends for Obi is too often busy harvesting fresh enemies for him. |
